Erwin Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) Hi all, With the next GB in mind,I'm thinking of doing the Me 109 on floats. There are some small scale kits that I could use as examples. But I can't find any real pictures of this experimental version. I could do this in 32 nd scale using 1/48 th scale floats from a donor kit. The 109 isn't a large plane. So bigger floats might not look good. Or even from the 1/72 nd Italeri Ju 52 on floats. Still in a planning stage. Edited October 30 by Erwin firefly7 1
firefly7 Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Halberd Models has a 109 on floats conversion Erwin, unfortunately it's 1/48. As usual with Halberd it looks marvelous and even comes with a beaching dolly. There is a lot of info on the site. I would buy one in a nanosecond if he makes it in 1/32. Cheers. They look very similar to Arado 196 floats. Edited October 31 by Erwin
Erwin Posted October 30 Author Posted October 30 (edited) Based on this profile. How many cm. would they be in 32 nd scale ? I don't have a Me 109 kit at the moment to compare. The Revell Arado floats are 22 cm. Edited October 30 by Erwin Alain Gadbois 1

Bob Yes, thank you for that Bob. Not sure when it will be delivered but it passed customs.....maybe a couple of days. There were extra costs ofcourse but all reasonable. Usually I keep in mind that I have to pay an extra 30% over the total cost ( 21% VAT plus handling fee ).
Martinnfb Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) Why not to use the Revell Arado 196 floats, apparently that was the intention of the original project . Edit: The project never materialized, so that's why there are no pictures available. just a paper queen Edited October 30 by Martinnfb Erwin 1

But at least no extra fees to be paid. Edited October 30 by Erwin Martinnfb 1

I might as well buy a new kit and do something "what-if" with the rest. I already have a "what-if" in mind... Edited Tuesday at 06:01 PM by Erwin Alain Gadbois 1
Rick Griewski Posted Wednesday at 12:30 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:30 AM (edited) I would buy the Revell kit. IIRC the engine is well done. Edited Wednesday at 12:33 AM by Rick Griewski
