CRAZY IVAN5 Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Ok, I don't know exactly where to put this question so if it needs moved that's cool. Anyway I got some 3D cockpit decals [?] from Lanbo[ out of China] and the instructions call for etching gel glue to install them. What is etching gel glue? Do we know it by another name and something got lost in the translation?
Dave Williams Posted October 22 Posted October 22 They could be talking about super glue. For 3D decals, I usually use either super glue or PVA (white) glues to attach the decals. CRAZY IVAN5 and LSP_K2 1 1

They aren't the same as ,say, Quinta, which I've used a lot . They aren't decals per 'se in that they want me to carefully peel back the backing paper at the edges of the image to get it off the backing paper [ pretty odd]. They do look good and they're the only game in town if one is doing a J-10 PLAAF in 1/48 sale. I'll try some PVA on one to see how it goes.

I basically use thinned down [with water] Micro crystal clear and found that it works real good. It seems to bond a little stronger than straight up PVA glue.
