Out2gtcha Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Interesting........ Not unlike the B model P-51, the Hellcat hasn't really had a definitive "best kit" come around. Its always been the a Trumpy kit, or the Has kit or a Frankenstein combo of both (always my personal intention). This will surely correct that as long as they have learned the mistskes of both different 32nd scale examples prior. Martinnfb, ColinR, scvrobeson and 4 others 7
Juggernut Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 (edited) Well, it may be time to unload that long-in-the-tooth 1/32 Hasegawa F6F Hellcat (original release in blue plastic with rubber tires). It seems I've had it forever. Edited October 16, 2025 by Juggernut CRAZY IVAN5 and Martinnfb 2
John1 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Wanted a -5. What a horrible subject, totally disappointed. Hard pass on this one. J/K ScoobyDoo, zeusbheld, nmayhew and 1 other 4
John1 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 I’m sure they will release a -5 at some point but that may be a year or two down the road. Anyone know what the differences are between versions? Just the window aft of the canopy? D Bellis 1

Now don't rivet the crap out of it.... and don't muck up the shape like Trumpeter did. Cheers Collin Martinnfb and CRAZY IVAN5 2

Bummer…. Looks like my wait for an F6F-5 will continue.
Reuben L. Hernandez Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 (edited) Great! Hopefully they will release a non-wing folding version. Reuben Edited October 17, 2025 by Reuben L. Hernandez

Putting a folding wing back to a straight wing can be a challenge depending on the level of kit engineering done. Reuben L. Hernandez 1
Aptivaboy Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Quote Wanted a -5. What a horrible subject, totally disappointed. Hard pass on this one. If they're doing a -3, then a -5 can't be too far behind. Even if they don't, the aftermarket folks will doubtless make this a fairly easy conversion - after window and windscreen, cowling, maybe a couple of extra fiddly bit like the antenna, a cockpit mod or two... It won't take much. I just hope we get more aftermarket decals than the ones we've seen over and over again... How many times has Flatley's -3 been done? Maybe Air Group 10? Butch O'Hare's -3 from his tragic last flight? There are a number of others... John1 1
