Tecnikit Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 (edited) Continuing with our specialty, another iconic aircraft from the Cold War. In this case, it was mainly designed to be carried on aircraft carriers. A strange aircraft, yet at the same time very attractive due to its slightly ramshackle appearance. Its one-piece wings could tilt slightly relative to the fuselage, allowing a greater angle of lift at low speeds for takeoffs and landings, without the pilot losing sight of the runway especially during landings. At first glance, the Trumpeter model seems very good in terms of quality / price. But as always, there are some things that could be improved. They have already been located. These details are going to be truly fantastic. And as one modeler suggested, we will also make the side launchers on the fuselage for the MATRA R530 missiles that we developed for the Mirage IIIE serie. This means that our models of these missiles will also be available for this kit too. Although they were mainly used by this aircraft in the French Navy, they were also used in some US NAVY units. Tony T Posted November 1, 2025 Posted November 1, 2025 Exciting! The French flew the E(FN) which was very similar to the Trumpeter F-8J (double L/E flaps incorporating BLC, larger UHT, wing incidence apparently reduced to 5º etc). Tony

Tony Since we have the MATRA R530 missile and someone suggested it in the forum, we are going to make the side launcher to adapt it to this NAVY model that was used for testing. There should be no changes for the F-8J if anyone wants to use them for the French version with MATRA.

Tecnikit Posted November 3, 2025 Author Posted November 3, 2025 (edited) Me too. Without a doubt, a line with its own character. And the film helped rescue it from memory. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/the-true-story-behind-the-famous-sequence-of-thirteen-days-movie-featuring-the-rf-8-crusader-low-level-high-speed-run-over-cuba-during-the-missile-crisis/ Edited November 3, 2025 by Tecnikit

Tecnikit Posted November 7, 2025 Author Posted November 7, 2025 Thank you very much for the bug report. For me is right too. Probably a host momentary failure. But I will pass on the notification. Javier Povedano.
Tecnikit Posted November 7, 2025 Author Posted November 7, 2025 (edited) The hosting provider has confirmed that this error is pre-programmed to appear but was not the real cause. It was to an excess of simultaneous users at a specific time. They have already fixed it. Thanks again for these notifications! Javier Povedano Edited November 7, 2025 by Tecnikit
VintageEagle Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 Great news. Are there any renders of the parts already? I could find anything at your website.
Tecnikit Posted November 17, 2025 Author Posted November 17, 2025 (edited) @VintageEagle I'd love to. The parts are in the early stages of development. But they won't take long since they aren't complicated. The truth is, now the priority is the send of the J-58 engines and using the downtime to manufacture parts that can be ordered this Christmas. Like the landing gears down in the real photo. As soon as the J-58 engines be sent, we'll make some very significant and rapid progress. And there are some new products in 1/48 scale that we were commissioned to make. Javier Povedano Tecnikit.com Edited November 17, 2025 by Tecnikit chukw 1
Bill M. Posted November 18, 2025 Posted November 18, 2025 Surely hope you also see fit to do some of the asymmetrical dual missile racks as used on USN/USMC F-8’s for Sidewinders and Zuni missiles. It would be great to get a correct set of these in 1/32 scale!
