1/48 Monogram B-25J "199” 43-36199

[Tolga ULGUR]

This is 1/48 Monogram’s B-25J with the markings of “199” ”  43-36199 which was a veteran of the 501st squadron of the Air Apaches.

“ This aircraft started out it’s career with a glass nose in Olive Drab and Neutral grey undersides – but gained an all metal straffer nose at some point in her service life. This nose was never painted “

The model build OOB except fort he main wheels from CMK details and the Eagle Cals decals.

I have used Gunze Sangyo acrylic paints

Nicely done sir!   I have this kit as well and have been toying about building it but with the knowledge that I'll have to rescribe all the panel lines (accurate or not).

I don't prefer rescribing at all. The result isn't what I want. That's why I chose to leave it as is and get the final result with shading, etc.

Considering its age Monogram use to produce some quality kits, so nice to see this one being build. The surface is super realistic , Thank you for sharing Tolga.

Monogram models will always have a special charm. Until Japanese brands arrived, they were the best. And the covers of their boxes were fantastic.

Fond memories of Moinogram, at one time, they were the "go-to" kits. They still have a certain something even today.

I love these old monograms too. They were the super kits of my childhood. They're out of fashion now, but it's still possible to get good results with them.
