My P-40N is coming along and is close to paint.

Lately, spare time is hard to come by...but it will happen.

One thing that I have concerns about is how to attach each end of the radio antenna to the mast and the vertical fin.  I have some EZ line (used to use stretched sprue in 1/72 and 1/48).

In this scale I don't think a glob of superglue will look convincing.  There are also insulators to think about.

How do you guys do these in the bigger scale?

Depends on aircraft of course.

Usually early in the build i ad holes on the vertical fin or if a small pole then drill a hole.

Then them details, depends how they look, use PVA or Kristal Kleer, some times a thin alu tube or a syringe needle.

Ex on the german style insulator that looks like a small cup, tooth pic and heated clear plastic ex from medicine pill, then cut the top and you got small cup and drill a hole...

Did a test run, here you can se.

Smaller scales i use CA glue and drilled holes...yes some times on bigger...details in the wire ive used PVA wood glue and when dried painted them, note the belly antenna, added a smal alurod 0.4mm as a sleeve for the antenna that were the stiff wire for rigging ships, doesnt break during handling model.

So different approaches depending on the model.
