Hey guys common, I am so surprised at all the negative comments. Each company needs to be free to make their own decisions, and it should not really matter to us or not, you either buy into their projects or not, that is your choice.
A while ago there was a thread that there was not enough new LSP models, well from what I can see there seem to be just more and more available, with more getting announced all the time.

Eduard are not only giving us a Spitfire and a P-51B Mustang plus one other, surely it is not all bad. Why do we not judge and comment once we have the kits, we just do not know we may well be surprised on details, build and or price, if not and you still do not want to buy a Spitfire then just move on to something else.
Sometimes I also wish for other versions or types but at the same time I am constantly overwhelmed at where and how the hobby is developing, over 40 years ago there was concern that the hobby was dying….. well it is stronger than ever. Sometimes challenging for all concerned trying to keep up with the fast pace, but exciting.

Enjoy your modelling what ever that maybe.

I agree Ali but I'm afraid of a too common conclusion regarding the fact this topic or that scale do not sell whereas the main issue is actually a wrong business approach or decision that is killing any probability of future releases! I'm remembering that years ago I regularly heard that "large scale WW1 plane kits were a minority because they did not sell!". Then, out of the blue, came Wingnuts Wings with another quality level and a different marketing approach. And guess what? WW1 LSP were suddenly sought after! I also heard that LSP kits of bombers would never be released as it would be impossible to sell them. HKM demonstrated the opposite. Eduard already claimed that LSP kits were not profitable. So if they changed their mind, I'm curious to know why and would appreciate a very well weighted initial decision that would not result in the return of the "LSP do not sell" mantra... Besides that I'm happy to see they really consider a comeback in the arena. I'm just hoping this is really the start of a long term trend.

Kōtare have demonstrated a model that is working.

Eduard's slightly bruised fingers have healed.

Tamiya and Hasegawa have left the building.

I think we shall see what happens Thierry. Let us see what the third option will be, that will be announced soon, but I am really looking forward to the P-51B, and I think if they follow any of their other kits up into 1/32 I think we could be happy. Let us see what comes out for E-Day. As for HKM, they have some good, some ok, but also there is quite a few on seriously discounted prices, so some may not be selling that well. It is a strange old business.

So on a forum dedicated to discussing large scale models, it's somehow a bit inappropriate that folks are posting comments that aren't simply 100% positive.   I for one am shocked by this, lol.  Never seen that behavior on a modeling forum before.

I'm thrilled that Eduard is getting back into the genre.  Their P-51B should be a winner (unless the other guy gets his to market first).  The reason it should be a winner is that there is nothing else out there except 50-year-old kits or newer garbage that sort of looks like a P-51B.  There is a significant demand for a high-quality P-51B.

Now compare their Spitfire IX.  On the million or so wish lists and polls published on various forums over the years, how many times did you see folks begging for a new Spitfire IX?  About as many times as you saw people begging for new tool P-51D's or F4U-1D's.   The Spit IX means nothing to me because Tamiya filled the void for that subject with a very high-level kit (despite what a few naysayers have to say about it).  I've got an IX on my shelf (soon to have another) and have zero interest in purchasing yet another Spit IX, simply because it's new or it might have a few shiny new improvements over Tamiya's product (and given some of Eduard's blunders on previous kits, there is no guarantee their IX will even surpass Tamiya's).   I'm guessing a lot of others may be in the same situation.    That said, if Eduard wants to spend the money to release another IX, have at it, I wish them nothing but success.

But hey, I'm just a guy who builds models.   Maybe because a subject sold well for them in 48th, it will also set records in 32nd?   My only real fear with Eduard's apparent marketing approach is that if they focus on releasing kits that have already been done to a high level by others, sales may not be as good as they hoped and then it's a case of "Yep, we knew 32nd wasn't a good market for us, we're out".

Time will tell...

John I certainly do not mean to offend anyone, however we are all entitled to their own opinions, I respect yours so it is up to you if you want to respect mine or others as well. I just think that sometimes positive out look is good.
Either way we are getting three new 1/32 releases from Eduard in the next little while, one of which many of us are super excited about P-51B, one many may pass on, Spitfire, that is fine, now let us see whether or not the E-day announcement is an exciting one or not.
