My take on the message was that the delay was 2-3 weeks beyond the expected ship date (ie, end of June), so it's more likely end of July that we'll start seeing kits being delivered.

Here's the exact line from the email:

We had promised shipping by the end of June but we’re going to miss that date by 2-3 weeks.

Three kits on the benches right now.  It gets here when it gets here.

I would be months away from getting to it.   LOL.

Correct...

We had promised shipping by the end of June but we’re going to miss that date by 2-3 weeks. We sincerely apologise for this and hope that you will agree that a short delay to achieve a better outcome is worth it in the long run. As always pre-order refunds are available on request if desired.

Kotare as a company are a template of how to deal with and communicate with customers. Having just listened to the special Kotare episode of the 'ModelGeeks' podcast, I am continuously impressed with the desire to get things right, and the honesty to say 'bear with us if it takes longer than expected to make sure the product is as good as possibly can be'.

Also loved Scott's enthusiasm for the kit and his enjoyment of the build!

To Kotare, I personally have no problem with a delay, any reasonable customer should not object and if they do they should not be pre-ordering.  I do not pre-order because I expect the model on a specific date, I do so to support Kotare models.  If it takes more time so be it.  If I were worried about it I would not pre-order.  I normally never pre-order models because I can always buy them cheaper at my convince in the future.  I pre-order from you to support your company in my little way.   I do not hold you to a deadline although it is appreciated to know how things are going.  Now I am really excited about that Hurricane and you can just post that pre-order now.  Let me send you some money please.

I wish I can say exactly the same once a new-tool Fw190D-9 is announced 🙏 Still hoping for Kotare to be the one to step in 😃
