dmthamade Posted June 10 Posted June 10 The Badger 180-11 compressor i use now is too noisy for my living situation, so i'm looking for a quiet/silent pump. There are a LOT of pumps out there, looking for first hand experiences with one. Don't have room for a tank or bottle. Auto shut off is preferred, will be used for airbrushing only. Any recommendations/ experiences are much appreciated. Don
denders Posted June 10 Posted June 10 I have a compressor from Harbor Freight. It has a 1-gallon tank and its pretty quiet. I think the rating is ~58db. It works for my situation. It may not for your situation. The real point I'd like to make is that places like Harbor Freight have videos on their web site with the compressor running. If you're looking at places like that, take the time to watch/listen to the video. dmthamade 1
dodgem37 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 https://www.californiaairtools.com/contractor-grade-ultra-quiet-series-of-air-compressors/3-5-hp-air-compressor/cat-1p1060s/ Works for me. Sincerely, Mark dmthamade 1
Reuben L. Hernandez Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Do yourself a favor and start using nitrogen or CO2 setup. The start up cost can be a bit pricey, purchasing the tank, and regulator. But depending on the size of tank you get you only need to fill up, well in my case, once a year at $10.00 for nitrogen. The benefits are no noise what's so ever and ultra clean and dry air/gas, no need for air traps anywhere in the system. IMHO, the only downside is the start up cost, but this set up will last you a lifetime. Good luck. dmthamade 1
dmthamade Posted Saturday at 02:14 AM Author Posted Saturday at 02:14 AM Thank you all for the recommendations. Seems i was more worried about the noise than anyone else. Nobody is bothered by the noise, i'm in the cellar so noise is not a problem. Life goes on... Don
