Rutman P-38 early conversion update

How are the P38 F,G&H conversion sets comin?

I'm interested in picking up one or more of these sets when they're ready.

The work is progressing, as I've been spending a lot of time working on the conversions for both the Revell and the Trumpy kits simultaneously, with the primary being the Trumpy kit, as most people will probably use that. The toughest part is getting set up to either vac-form the canopies, or successfuly cast them in clear resin. Many experiments on both fronts ongoing to see which will be easier to do and yield the best results. I'm doing my best to get them cranked out before spring, when I will get busy with other projects again. I hope to remaster the early cockpit set as well, but that may have to come later.

 

The new F-5 and F-4 noses are also well underway. These will now be a single solid piece each, instead of separate nose and door pieces. This greatly simplifies installation and alignment, and has the added bonus of providing the nose weight needed. The F-5 nose will work with both the new early conversion, making an F-5A, and the late version as provided in the kit, making an F-5B. I also plan to 3D print a camera control box to be mounted on the control column.
