One being the wheel wells - whereas before I was thinking of 3D printing a complete wing, now that it is IM I have to make an insert that makes allowances for the IM skin thickness. luckily the Typhoon has a bloody thick wing so the compromise is barely noticeable, if at all... ..as you so kindly said last time, split it down to make painting easier, so this is where we are at - a main bay, a front spar, and other detail bits will follow - there are a few stays connecting the spar to the bay roof that will need to be separate for example.. ..again, these are very low res test prints.. ..simple assembly.. ..this one is flawed in that there is a collapse in one rear corner where I didn't support it properly, but it all fits well.. airscale Posted July 24, 2025 Author Posted July 24, 2025 the cockpit has been redesigned to fit the IM parts... more bits than the Defiant so some will be happy ..again, a very low res test print with no attention paid to supports or orientation to reduce layer lines - this is just to see if it fits in the fuselage where it should.. ..coming along Peter denders, Paulpk, Hubert Boillot and 36 others 38 1
mozart Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 (edited) Oh, be still my beating heart! I can see a squadron of these on my shelves! The detail is phenomenal Peter, and with the car door open, and maybe the top section (for brave souls) a lot of it will be visible and appreciated. Itchy hands! monthebiff Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 This is looking just amazing Peter, the level of detail is just stunning once again! More importantly is that a test piece of IM fuselage surrounding that amazing cockpit? Regards. Andy airscale 1

Thunnus Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 OMG… the wheel wells and cockpit look amazing, Peter! And the inclusion of IM fuse and wings makes this project that much more attractive to me personally. I have to admit that the Defiant was not my cup of tea but the Typhoon is a single seat WW2 fighter and I’m following with great interest. May have to pull the trigger on this one. Amazing stuff we are seeing here. geedubelyer, airscale and Troy Molitor 3
