Not playing down the 109K-4 but Oooo....I'm liking that Mk Vb/Vc.  Now if they'll just add the trop filter, I'll spend some more dough.  In the Spitfire shots, am I seeing the Vc cannon fairing on the left wing and the Vb cannon fairing on the right wing?  My oldish eyes cannot really tell; I shouldn't think so but I just cannot focus on the detail.

The C wing was different to the B wing, including the external view, so I think Kotare have some way to go before they release a Mk.Vc Spitfire.  But I do wonder if there's a choice of tropical filters in the box.

Also good to hear that the release of the 109K is imminent.  I hope the kit is a success for them.

Cheers,

Michael

I should think that with so many kits in the stash that I could resist adding these two but well you know how that goes. Pre-ordered both on opening day. Purely to

help support this upstart company you understand.

Wow. Two iconic planes in model form coming. They both look good from my part of Texas.

I think enthusiasm might be getting the better of you, both are B wings, fingers crossed they do indeed produce a Vc, a Malta defender Vb special boxing first, with pilot figure.

'upstart'-a person who has just started in a new position or job but who behaves as if they are more important than other people, in a way that is annoying.

I'm sure that isn't what you meant?

I meant what I said and the term "upstart" refers to the relatively new company Kotare. The point of my comment is that Even though I have far too many kits in the stash already I have pre-ordered these new kits to help see the company to be profitable. John

Email this morning

Mark and the Kotare Models team would like to apologise for the lack of communication over the last couple of weeks about the delivery schedule of our upcoming Bf 109K-4 kitset.

It hasn’t been a deliberate news blackout; it’s just that we’ve all been working furiously to get the model to market. We have been attempting to make it as close to perfect as we can with a few last minute changes to the plastic parts. We know it won't BE perfect, but it is worth trying!

The good news is that since last week injection moulding machines are pumping out 109 parts in the factory of our moulding partner!

The decal sheets have arrived in China from Cartograf in Italy and look beautiful, and boxes are being printed.

I am working with the team to finish the instructions. I am significantly to blame for them being a bit late because it’s my first time doing them. It is tremendous fun but also time consuming and I have been grateful for the input of our designers and multiple other experts. I hope you will really like the amount of information presented in what is now a 44-page booklet.

We had promised shipping by the end of June but we’re going to miss that date by 2-3 weeks. We sincerely apologise for this and hope that you will agree that a short delay to achieve a better outcome is worth it in the long run. As always pre-order refunds are available on request if desired.

We will keep you updated as the pre-order stock leaves China by airfreight to get to New Zealand. All the shipping boxes will be pre-assembled and labelled and there will be a crew of Kōtare staff and volunteers packing the kitsets, 3Dprint exhausts and pre-order exclusive art prints as rapidly as we can to get the model into your hands.

We thank everyone who has ordered from Kotare and hope that you will be part of our community for a long time to come.

Mark Robson (Kotare owner) on behalf of the Kotare team.
