Baidu Model News reports that Very Fire is working on a 1/35 scale SB2C Helldiver. If this turns out to be true, it's a somehow disappointing development for those of us who build exclusively in 1/32 scale.

Edit: I sent a message to Very Fire to confirm whether the rumor was true, and they replied affirmatively.

They made 2 versions of the Taiho, I felt the  version with the additional parts was a nice kit. Very involved build with all the PE.

God i hope they dont!,much better in 32nd scale as no one makes one. I have some of there ships and while there early kits were good the later kits after the Taiho are cutting edge kits so lets hope there Helldiver is..but 32nd scale.

You could always build the 32nd Infinity Models Helldiver. I'm sure they are easy to pick up still

I'm worried that there will be something in 1:35 that I really want in large scale, such as a quality MiG-21 or Thunderchief, and that will be when the dilemma kicks in: lovely kit in the wrong scale or stick with a crappy 1:32 kit.

The F-4 Phantom was always the scale shifter for me: the Monogram 1:48 kit in 1980, the Tamiya 1:32 F-4 in 1995. With the 1:35 focus apparently purely on WW2 subjects my future relationship with 1:32 looks secure. But if somebody does a 1:35 RF-4 or FG.1 there will be trubble at mill.

I hear what yer sayin' brother! As you know I'm a "cold war" jet freak so my take is , if it's a choice between a good 35th scale or a crappy 32 , I'll be opting for the 35th scale kit . I got a special shelf space set aside for 35th, but I know full well that not everybody feels the same way I do. As long as it's a good kit with decent instructions and decals ,I'm good. YMMV of course.

At least it will match the Dauntless that's coming soon from Border?  Hopefully it comes with a wing fold in the box to save space.

Matt

True that! The wing fold is a must for naval aircraft regardless of nationality. Of course the Dauntless doesn't have that feature so allowances have to be made. I'm not at all familiar with Very Fire products so ............

hmmmm....thats a good idea of keeping the 35th scale stuff together, and maybe some one could do a decent b24, as Hobby Boss made a bush pig out of theres, and because its 32nd scale theres stuff, all chance HK will do it as there market has been eroded by the Hobby Boss one.

Yup, all the 35th stuff goes in one area and I also do the same thing for 144th,mostly Soviet bombers , Bear ,Bison , Badger ,Backfire and Blinders, works a treat for me.

I’m of mixed emotions on this. Fundamentally, I don’t mind the idea of 1/35 aircraft. However, I’ve built such a collection of 1/32 planes that it would probably irk me to no end seeing one or two of them just sliiiiightly off scale.

That said, there are some neat subjects that are only being represented in 35th scale, so I may have to give in.
