Once again a kit that I'm trying to finish for a show here in September. Much has already been done. The single best book I have on the Pak 40, here, shows variations that this kit does not seem to cover, so I'll not be adding anything extra. Oddly, two gun shields are included in kit, but one is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. Three different wheel set styles are also included and I have opted for the 6 spoke versions, which I believe is correct for my variation. Breach block does not completely cover the breach, but that may have been an error on my part that I'll now need to resolve.

Muzzle brake (two options here) needs some pin marks addressed before final assembly can proceed, but with the rifled inserts should look great.

Legs (trails) are now more or less completely assembled but still need some minor cleanup of smaller parts. I’m holding off on the gun cleaning rods until I can confirm the color needed.

Nice progress, Kev!

The ejector pin marks on the shields: will you be able to see much of them when you sandwich them together?

Haven't received my kit yet; I ordered it with the Messerschmitt P.1101 and it isn't out yet.

Yep, very visible from the sides between the gap in the armor plates.

Front support area is coming along nicely now. I'll hold off adding the hydraulic lines until everything else is added and cleaned up (mold parting lines, etc.).

With one set of shields now built, the otherwise visible pin marks are no longer an issue. They may have not been all that big of a deal to begin with, but why take chances.

The six spoke main wheels should have six discs in brake drum area, but these are absent. I'll add them with punched pieces. The six holes in the rim itself will also be added.

Wheels now doctored up. I still need to drill holes in the drum discs though, which I'll do once these are completely dry. The crazing from the liquid cement will be removed with some Scotch-Brite.
