Allright, done a few things yesterday and today, and yes had a wtf experiance aswell....long story short, that electric wiring, that wire didnt stick at all as suspected slippery insulation/silicon type, as the wiring yes didnt cure, Bloody hell what to do now...oh well ended up attach every single clamp, made em from alu tape, and yes every single one, lol like real deal, that ill asure you took time..and yes they sticked now..but yaih what a surprise that was...Im stubborn LoL.

Okidoki here goes.

That life ring, three layers of plastic card and start to shape it, and twisted copper wire and alutape..and paint and weathered like so....

and well the lamp pole is done with nails, weathered and the rest, and yes tested the led....yes yes..all this will do just fine for me...this will be my 4th diobase ive made, last one over 10yrs ago LoL....

Loving all of the scratch-made details for the base. Really elevates the entire scene.

Matt

Thanks Matt @scvrobeson for them kind words.

Been many hours of joy on this project, research, scale converting, work with my hands and mind, all that, sure is a journey, and work with other materials.

im really looking forward to the resin part.

Later this day, ad those empty food tin cans and wine bottles on the seabed.  and yes that bicycle, sadly wont fit that good on the seabed, but  it will be used on this base...got very nice idea about that one, tables, the fuel pump...and so on, and when finnished that part, the final assembly of the Arado can begin...

I think this is a schoolbook example of getting carried away by your imaginaire. Brilliant project Mal, brilliant modelling, and by the end of this build I think we will all be surprised that we had forgotten that an aircraft model is the centrepiece, not an ancient Greek harbour scènere creation.....🤣

Thanks for them real kind words, had this vision before i even started, due its maritime aircraft, and needs good presentation, if done one stationed on a battleship well then then you know my answer LoL, and that one is huge, would done that LoL..

I love Kalamaki been there, and other places on Crete, who doesnt love Greece.

And LoL...This Arado is huge on that base, so hey hard not to notice LoL, the rest is the goodies...and i do when a chance do some scratch building, and for once a cool base locked in a display box.

Its an awesome bunch of stuff you've got going into this - and there's something strangely joyous about it all. Such a pleasure!

Thanks for them real kind words, and happy that you like my work.

And as mentioned, takin the opourtunity to do extra, scratch and use other material.  many times for sure outside my comfort zone indeed, and have a great time workin on this project.

Yeah, talked about em bottles on the seabed.

piece of clear sprue will work perfect for this...and yes, used a figure in 1:32 scale to get the size "right"..

Proxxon comes in handy...and start shape that bottle.

img20954.jpg

Ooh, some brilliant work, Mal.  Love the light pole and bottles.

Thanks Gazzas....

Getting closer for that water hey....and small things, oh well small and small but the list is way shorter now tan few weeks ago...each small projects in this big one is getting finnished

Arado is 95% finnished....

As soon as the base is done the main assembly starts.

For those who wonder why not now...easy explanation, need to have that display box finnished with the base stationed in it before even put the aircraft in it, due very fragile...rest need no explanation.

You just need a couple of drunk French wharfies.
