Mal_Belford Posted November 6, 2025 Author Posted November 6, 2025 And done. The trickiest part were to drill that hole on the antenna pole The alutube is reinforced with a guitar string inside. And yes, this will do just fine for me. And dryfit...yes yes. Landrotten Highlander, scvrobeson, tucohoward and 10 others 13

Used the sacrifical canopy as test piece... Yes its been removed without a fuzz. Used a light blue to enhance so im seeing what im doing, dont bother the grainy surface, as it only a test. It contains 4 Pieces, two pieces plastic card and one piece guitar string and one alourod. Looks like it will work hey, better than the model, few adjustments needed. And fitting it just to check....yes yes. Dont want to drill on this resin canopy yet before im 100% confident where to drill.....last thing i want is to order a new one theese are crazy hard to come by. Those masks provided with HPH didnt fit any good and the Monex nope, so a combo of them, and some masking tape...and dont worry will go over with a rubber pencil to press them airpockets so less risk of leaks... My son was re-stringing his guitar the other day and "confiscated" his old ones. Figured if I am paying for new strings, I may as well get some use out of them as well. LOL Mal_Belford 1
Mal_Belford Posted November 6, 2025 Author Posted November 6, 2025 (edited) And done, note the antenna pole is only dryfitted...and yes the fuselage edge entrance to the cockpit will be fixed, easy peasy.. will be fixed, added also the Compass and a handle bar... Mal_Belford Posted November 8, 2025 Author Posted November 8, 2025 Been workin on this project, might look slow, but its not, detailing takes time. enough talning and over to this evenings update..... More PE Origami for the canopy... Even added a small turning knob... And and a lever... And added that lever on the back canopy, yes did a ball knob on it, do not like flat PE part. And those handles for the pilots canopy, the base is way to thick. The one ln the left is trimmed down, way better imo. And in place....also added those triangular shaped PE parts. reference pic. Added also two small placards on those floats. LSP_Kevin, Landrotten Highlander, Shoggz and 16 others 19
Mal_Belford Posted November 9, 2025 Author Posted November 9, 2025 handles on the canopy...almost forgot them. The modelkits. Looked at reference pictures..nah those wont do....as look at them ends flattened tube ends. Try to replicate them. 0.4mm alutube. Yes better than the models, and no, i wont paint them, as like that metal look... Nah...of course they will get paint. And painted them stands... Also fixed those edges, after removing the sacrifical canopy...sanded with 2500grit and painted. Yes..all this will do just fine for me. D.B. Andrus, Shoggz, Gazzas and 13 others 16
Gazzas Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 Handles look great! This would be a tough act to follow. Mal_Belford and Greif8 1 1
Greif8 Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Superb precision work on the canopy Mal. Working on clear part is always a tense process for me. You have knocked it out of the park though. Ernest Mal_Belford 1
Mal_Belford Posted November 10, 2025 Author Posted November 10, 2025 Thanks @Gazzas and @Greif8 for them kind words. Those small details ad to the whole.

scvrobeson Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Really liking all of the additional canopy details that you're adding Mal! Really does improve the entire product. Matt Mal_Belford 1
Mal_Belford Posted November 10, 2025 Author Posted November 10, 2025 Thanks @scvrobeson . Yes, as it is quite naked without them. Try to ad as much as possible as long as it ads to the whole such in this case, make it look interesting, that is many times the real challenge part, find a ballance in the build and overall impression. scvrobeson 1
Mal_Belford Posted November 10, 2025 Author Posted November 10, 2025 (edited) Allright...little bigger update the. That shell chanel provided in the kit, yaih EEEEK Uäck...Looks like a tapeworm...Hell no... It should look something like this instead. So hey, got to scratch something closer hey, dont you agree....and i know exactly what to use, collect msterial for that part...damn im thirsty... so get few of theese orange juice..yummy.. Yeah, you allready guessed it...want those paper straws.... Yes.. perfect surface details for the shell channel hose... And cut and glue then to extend them. Now drill a hole on the Y shaft for the MG... And trim down one of them shell collector bags. And now dryfit.....Yes Yes, better hey. And dryfit it on the model...NOTE it is NOT the final position, as the MG will be pointing up due weight.. Edited November 10, 2025 by Mal_Belford Victor K2, Antonio Argudo, FW190A-5 and 12 others 15
