Mal_Belford Posted May 11 Posted May 11 (edited) Allright, finnished a build yesterday First Timer Modelship wich also can be found here in NoN LSP Works section So now continue with the Maritime theme, Modelkit, well picture needs no presentation, got it second hand on eBay, part sealed in bags. Will use AM this time wich i do not do often at all, so this time go all in with AM, all insignias and markings will be painted, also some scratch. Yes....here it is and here goes. First things first reset the workplace. Nice boxart. Some reference books and all AM that ill use. And the build officially have started Edited May 11 by Mal_Belford LSP_K2, Landrotten Highlander, Kagemusha and 25 others 28

Mal_Belford Posted May 11 Author Posted May 11 (edited) Nope, no HpH parts here, Seats from HGW and harnesses. Master Machingun, Quintas detailset for cockpit. Metallic Details, The engine with cowling. Montex Masks for canopy and insignias and markings. Edited May 11 by Mal_Belford Martinnfb, monthebiff, nmayhew and 1 other 4
nmayhew Posted May 12 Posted May 12 nice project do you have a canopy correction set? the original release was moulded insanely with a split down the middle or something stupid like that I have the kit and Aerocraft's resin replacement canopy but age has not been kind - the dreaded yellow tinge has overcome it! 😬 Such a shame because outside of that issue, I think this was one of Revell's last really good releases (I see it's up for re-release late this year btw) What scheme will you be doing? Mal_Belford and Martinnfb 2
Mal_Belford Posted May 12 Author Posted May 12 Nope, but i think ill go for the one included, did a quick look before i started and the canopy is in several parts, and its along the frame, Ill see if i order new one, But need to do one bigger correction, if correctly as i remember it right, the sides of the framework should be covered with plywood inside the cockpit. Biggles87 Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I have one in my stash also, it looks like a well detailed but quite complicated kit in the box, that’s as far as I’ve got. John Martinnfb and Mal_Belford 2
DrDave Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Hi Mal, I see you have the kagero book. I don’t suppose you have the decals in it for SE-AWY the Swedish one? I quite fancy doing her again and would happily buy them off you if spare. Mal_Belford and Martinnfb 2
Martinnfb Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Fantastic choice, will follow with interest cheers Martin Mal_Belford 1
FW190A-5 Posted May 12 Posted May 12 About the multi part canopy; the problem is that keyed tabs will show when finished. Same issue in Revell's Ju-88. Aftermarket offerings are from HPH and Alleycat though both are currently out of production. Hannant did show stock of HPH recently. John Mal_Belford 1

As can sell the whole book instead of chopping it up and loose all value lol, paid closer to $55-60 (incl posting) complete with decals
Mal_Belford Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 Yep..little done this evening...the framework is supposed to be covered....so well get in to work, 45min later, first a template made out of paper and tape, transfer it to thin plastic card, and voila, straight and nice and all boxes and other things align center and nicely, all is dryfitted. Yes all is in center with boxes and details. will do just fine for me. Victor K2, spyrosjzmichos, LSP_K2 and 20 others 23
Mal_Belford Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 (edited) Thanks Kev...now to replicate the opposite side then , main template is done...all em details that go thru the panel gha lol...make sure straight and nice, and clean, got few issues ahead later, but reveal it later in this thread lol...a must dry fit, dry fit....dry fit once more before even do anything to make sure.... Mal_Belford Posted May 14 Author Posted May 14 And almost done, noticed, the panels supposed to be tight around em boxes, so fixed now, few more holes on them panels, also noticed a goofer.....the throttle box yaih, its supposed to be on the outside the panel, yes the whole good damn thing... lol and ive done a hole for it, gha...missed that completely, ....nah easy peasy fix, thats why i scratch lol. been thru far worse patchjobs than this so its nothing no hiding here fellow builders...as i share the whole god damn thing. and yes, due tightened up around em boxes, small shallow marks will be removed, as let it cure now and yes will not be seen when done...mr Surfacer will be the thing here for that. almost forgot, sitting here typing all this nonsense on my phone, the picture....here it comes.
