mynameismatt Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Does anyone have a facebook link for this project? Or pictures? The image at the beginning of the thread is broken. Doing a facebook search for "Model USA" is a little sketch and brings up nothing plastic model related 🤣 Polecadt and Alain Gadbois 2
dtn05 Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Just saw some more test shots of the 1/32 scale Cessna A-37B Dragonfly from a Vietnamese scale modeling group. The poster reported he received the photos from his friend and it will be produced in the near future. Not sure what the near future means, but the sooner the better for me. CRAZY IVAN5, Daniel Leduc and Landrotten Highlander 3
dtn05 Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 (edited) Here are the latest photos of A-37B Dragonfly 3D print progress. https://www.flickr.com/gp/dongtnguyen/MU21534k2D https://www.flickr.com/gp/dongtnguyen/Ks588NMV1H https://www.flickr.com/gp/dongtnguyen/594d08j60g https://www.flickr.com/gp/dongtnguyen/hA053aD435 https://www.flickr.com/gp/dongtnguyen/bJNHsM96DX https://www.flickr.com/gp/dongtnguyen/gEqb419PN8 Edited February 2 by dtn05 Trying to insert images Landrotten Highlander, Alain Gadbois, Supersonic and 1 other 1 3

I wonder how they're going to do the clear parts AND I want to see the rest of the kit. John1 1
John1 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Surface detail looks quite nice. I second the request for pics of the clear parts. Not gonna lie, I’d much rather get a Tweet so I could build one in vintage NMF with Day-Glow Orange panels. CRAZY IVAN5 1
Out2gtcha Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Do we know if this is a 3D printed kit or just the .stls (I'm assuming kit)?
dtn05 Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 I have added some additional photos of the 1/32 scale Cessna A-38B Dragonfly showing the ejection seats and how they fit inside the cockpit. patricksparks, CRAZY IVAN5, Shoggz and 5 others 7 1

Out2gtcha Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I am hoping the actual clarity of the 3D printed clear parts is markedly improved from the pics. BloorwestSiR and CRAZY IVAN5 1 1
LSP_Ray Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I haven't tried printing nor bought any printed kits with clear parts yet, but I read tips on Aladdin Models page one trick for making printed clear parts clearer is to dip the parts into the raw clear resin kind of like Future on IM parts. I may have to try that sometime if Aladdin comes out with their F-101 kit. BloorwestSiR 1
LSP_Kevin Posted February 4 Posted February 4 The problem with clear UV resins is that they always turn cloudy when you cure them - which is an essential step in the process. They always come off the printer looking magnificent, but when you cure them, it's usually game over. And it's very difficult to get that clarity back, and I'm not sure how dipping the part in uncured clear resin would help, as you still have to cure it again. Kev BloorwestSiR 1
