We have done some pruning here but Honestly I'm not sure this one is in the spirit of it's intent, but the members who regularly post here may not always agree, but do normally keep level heads about the direction of the discussion, which is why it is still here. Delving off into the "T-word" and why they are, or are not the cause of modeling issues will definitely get this one shut down, just a heads up on keeping the discussion on topic (please). So, shall we get back to guessing on what's next from Kotare? LSP_Ray, Stevepd, mozart and 2 others 5
LSP_Ray Posted May 2 Posted May 2 6 hours ago, do335b6 said: As someone who imports kits I can tell you tarffis have already been an issue. If importing from Hong Kong, Japan , China etc. You now can only do it via speedpak or EMS. In HK and China EMS is hitting the exports with a base shipping charge of $150 -200 not including any tariffs that may be added this additional charge is then paid by the importer. Out of the Far east there is no limit on size any order from 1 item to 1000s are being hit equally. Currently shipments from EU have not had this issue but they are preparing for the eventuality as well. Winston V Owner Bagheera Productions Might be different for businesses, but my package from HLJ-Japan is coming EMS for a total of $67 and some change, and that includes a 1/16th scale tank + a couple of small kits + some AM so maybe $10-$15 more than usual.

Dpgsbody55 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I'm not surprised at the comments here, nor offended by any. Yet. I think the situation will become in another couple of weeks, so we should all try to remember there's nothing we can do about it but try to make the best of it until then. Always remember, things always seem at their darkest just before it all goes pitch black. Cheers, Michael John1, Archimedes, Stew Dapple and 5 others 8

fastterry Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Right so we're now into the what's next at Kotare. The obvious serious choice is the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk. NZ flew the E & M version at least and there are P-40 airframes in NZ to get up close to measure. Some cleaver mould design (hopefully better than the Hasegawa approach) could render the E. K, M & N. I think the F-L may be a bit too different, but who knows. When in Christchurch in 2011 I paid a visit to the local air museum and in one of the stranger aeronautical things I have seen was watching a man turning a perfectly good F model (the one with the Merlin engine) into a standard E model because the RNZAF didn't fly the F variant. Blow me down, ever heard of a swap with someone with an E. Anyway you heard it here first. TRF CRAZY IVAN5, Martinnfb and MikeC 3

As usual, I am not guessing, but I’ll buy whatever they choose, for the experience of building a nicely engineered kit and maybe looking into an aircraft that I’m not so familiar with and to support a company that is working hard to create accurate and well designed kits. Right now, I’m salivating at the prospect of the K-4 (an aircraft I never really had much interest in before now) but even more with the upcoming Hurricane. cbk57 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 1 hour ago, blackbetty said: come on, not anothet whishing thread stop it or i`ll say the T-word Is it nice though to have a company that we know is going to release interesting 1/32 plastic planes vs one that we hope will? I am a huge Tamiya fan but at least we know we will be getting a new LSP announcement from Kotare in the foreseeable future. We already have the early Hurricane coming and we know more is coming after that of something. Martinnfb, Rick Griewski, Shoggz and 2 others 5
