jmustarde Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I'm building the HKM Grand Slam Lancaster. Everything is progressing (somewhat) smoothly. Talking of smooth, the underside of the ailerons are absent any detail whatsoever. Not a feature to be seen. Does anyone have a picture of the surface in question? I couldn't find anything online with enough clarity to discern any details. Thanks! James.
mozart Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) Hope this helps: It’s G-George in the AWM Canberra. I have quite a lot of other detailed shots if you need anything else. Edited April 25 by mozart dennismcc, geedubelyer, Christa and 1 other 2 2

That's fantastic, mozart. Thank you. I can add some subtle tape detail to the underside, whilst thoroughly thinning the heavy tape detail on the uppers. Much appreciated! mozart 1
whitt_a Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Hello @jmustarde, I noticed the same thing on the HK kit. A quick look at the Lancaster at CWH showed that the ailerons are fabric covered. My plan was to reproduce the fabric taping on the underside of the ailerons with 0.005 strip, and dress down the uppers to match. There are other issues too, but nothing that can’t be fixed. TW
