I guess my Hypno-Fiat G50

It was certainly a step up for me in terms of paint complexity and attempts at weathering. Also it was nice from a perseverance standpoint, that build drug out over many years! I feel like I've learned a lot more in intervening builds, but I still enjoy looking at this one in the cabinet :D

Seeing everyone's builds is a fun walk down memory lane!

Drugs involved eh Denzil, not surprised with that snazzy finish…..oh wait…perhaps it’s the past tense of “drag”, as in “dragged”?? :D:whistle::huh:

The only drugs involved were copious amounts of laquer fumes :frantic:

Growing up with English influences in Australia and now residing in America, I genuinely can not keep head nor tails about what is and isn't "proper" english

It’s all part of the rich tapestry of life, and language is a constantly growing and developing thing……sometimes not always approved of by dinosaurs like me! :hmmm::D

I should know better, I had one parent who spent their working life  teaching English in schools

This is a very difficult question, both because I don't regard myself as a particularly talented modeller, and because I really hope I will build something better in the future.

But I'm going to nominate two builds here.  The first is a Spitfire, as flown by Pierre Clostermann.  It also has a familial link of sorts as outlined during the build.  I got a lot of help from some of the good folks here which is very much appreciated, and the model just turned out well.

The second was one I built back in 2016; a Mig-3 by Trumpeter.  I put a lot of work into the cockpit on this, which is largely scratch built.  Here's the original, which I think is a propaganda photo, hence the factory fresh look.

Max I'm pretty sure my favorite and finest build will always be the Aeromarine 75.

It was a challenge but it was also a joy converting the WNW's Felixstowe into one of the first Airliners, 5 years on it still makes me smile...

The conversion also helped me think that maybe it would be, at some point, possible to scratch build the planes I have been dreaming about...

Well done Kent, it’s sublime….but I thought it might have been your Antarctic one that you have recently won multiple awards for! Richly deserved without question.

Yeah one would think the last project is always the one you are most proud of, but no...

Many of my large dioramas are on display at the Danish 'Flymuseum' the Lancaster, Mosquito, B-25, B-17, Arado 234 diorama.

Also the PBY-Catalina is at the museum, but I'm sure I will never part with the Aeromarine.

Maybe there is also a certain amount of nostalgia involved, remembering the good old days, the demise of Wingnut Wings, it's just not the same without them!

I’m not disagreeing with you Kent, but if WnWs was still extant, would we have Kotare? I’ll settle for the latter. :D

Some seriously nice models in there!

Fortunately "finest" is as subjective as it can be, and I have several nice ones, but one standout. It was my first 1/32 model in long time, I really tried to work consistently from start to end (mostly but not quite managed that goal.... :D , but most of all the cameraderie and generosity of fellow modellers.

WNW Fokker D.VII (Alb), Aviattic decals for lozenge, kit+WNW aftermarket for the rest (I did paint the red bands instead of using the decals. It has more than a few warts mostly known to me, but every time I look at it I'm reminded of that generosity :)
