tomprobert Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Great thread - and as others have said there are some seriously talented modellers on this site! My favourite build/model I’ve done to date is my ID Models 1/32 Sunderland which went from this: To this: Over two years of hard graft went into this model - but I absolutely loved it. From bumps in plastic to something that could, hopefully, pass as an injection kit gave me huge satisfaction. Tom Timmy!, D.B. Andrus, BiggTim and 26 others 29
blackbetty Posted April 5 Posted April 5 couldnt post pics with my answer yesterday, so this one (not that it compares to any of the masterpieces posted): MikeMaben, TankBuster, D.B. Andrus and 19 others 22
Hubert Boillot Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) Easy … the next one I’ll finish … until the following one … Even though I now keep them (vs « vertical filing » a few years ago) I tend to get bored by my builds once finished. Oldbaldguy Posted April 5 Posted April 5 The great thing about threads like this one is that they are hardcore reality checks for posers like me. I think all my finished models look like these until I put my glasses on and then, well, you get the idea. Timmy!, mozart, Shoggz and 6 others 1 8

Shoggz Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Well, threads like these do little to dissuade me from the solid belief that this site is home to some of the finest aircraft modellers on the planet. geedubelyer, Christa, mozart and 4 others 7
Stokey Pete Posted April 5 Posted April 5 This one’s an easy one for me. It has to be the Border Lancaster that’s hanging majestically from on my lounge wall. I still haven’t got round to photographing it properly yet for an RFI post. Why this one? A combination of reasons. It’s one of the finest kits I’ve had the privilege to build. It was the one that gave me the most modelling enjoyment through the whole build process. Finally, to produce a result like I did, to a subject far removed from my usual interest of heavy metal jets, is the main reason I put it as my finest modelling achievement. I think I’ve built some lovely Vipers, Flankers, and Eagles over the years……but I expected that of myself. The Lanc’ was out of my zone. phasephantomphixer, dennismcc, scvrobeson and 16 others 19

LSP_K2 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 13 hours ago, Greif8 said: Very beautiful and superbly built models every one of them! It was quite nice getting to see some of the builds again as well as looking a some that I had not seen before. Like several of you, there are a few candidates that I consider my best build and after hemming and hawing for a time I picked the one below - that will probably get me killed for the utter blasphemy displayed towards the forum for posting it. No problem at all. Sailing vessels, battleships, carriers, destroyers are are all more than welcome here, at least as far as I'm concerned. Shoggz, Archimedes and Greif8 3
LSP_K2 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I forgot this 1:32 Roden Fokker Dr.I kit. Built roughly 12 years ago (during my brown phase), it still looked good to me. My next Dr.I will be in a more traditional olive green streaked finish. Archimedes, Shoggz, scvrobeson and 13 others 16
Pete Fleischmann Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Timmy!’s OV-10D is ridiculous. As awesome as it is in photos, If you haven’t seen it in the flesh, it’s really hard to get your head around what a groundbreaking piece of art it truly is. In the age of 3D printing, with so many amazing advancements, it still holds up as one of the finest models ever. Timmy! Has also mastered 3D printing- so if you are unaware of his Jaguar project- buckle up and prepare to be humbled and amazed ! P Timmy!, LSP_K2, JeepsGunsTanks and 5 others 7 1
Jim Barry Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Scratch 1/24 Fury. My finest and actually only "super build" LSP I've finished. But let's talk about something else. Great work ahead of me on this thread. Wow!!! D.B. Andrus, Iain, Archimedes and 11 others 14
