Turning the mud, finding orientation in drizzle and fog: the Messerschmitt-Regensburg built G-10s (not so many) and the G-6 AS and G-14 AS (rather frequent) have a lot in common with the K (concerning profiles) but would need nearly completely new electrodes and molds due to different surface features. Now we have two renowned manufacturers sharing one renowned designer. Who has hands on these  DB 605 AS models ? Will there be a solution ? Or is it a simple as that ? A K is a K and a G is a G.

From the sound of it Kotare is doing the K and E and leaving ZM to do the G family.

Pretty smart to not step on each others toes and as they have similar price points outside Japan gives those the option of wanting an engine based late 109 with ZM and a clean kit the Kotare K.

Nice work by Sam on the interview very insightful discussion and long term plans.

Radu really is leading the pack with his superb 32nd designs

Now how about a new 190D-9 family, Typhoons, Spit Mk14’s etc..

I dont know Darrin have a good look at the sprue shots with the common parts it clearly has G/10 K-4 in the corner tag so clear indication one is there in the pipe line . A regansburg g-10 is the easiest to alter from th k but it will need new upper wings ,new cockpit . A slight issue with the g-10 is they only built 123 or so and they are almost a rare version while the WNF and ERLA aircraft were built in larger numbers but both require a bit more work . If they are going to do the g 10 i vote for an ERLA one to replace the revell dog . and if they get bored with 32nd a K in 48th done to their high standard would be welcome .

Presumably any hop to a G-10 and wishing to maximize commonality of parts would be a G-10 with large wheel wing bulges, that's about all i have got

I am still contemplating just how quickly I need to build all my DML Emils before Kotare bring their guns to bear on that type!

Just can't make myself watch somebody else building it.  I want the experience of all of those new parts...  all of that newness...  for myself.  Maybe I'll watch these videos once I've built mine.  Then again...   why would I?

Well I didn't know they were sounding out an E.

News to me, and I'm with Nick. The Dragon/DML 109E is pretty good.

A 110 G4....

 True ... But the Eduard E-1 is * meh * ....

If they go for an E1 first?? ... new wing sprues for the E-3/4 later?

Personally I wanted to see a few things they were doing like the cowling hinge.  Also much of the videos are an interview interspersed with some building. I don't mind myself watching a build now and then as I look at reviews anyway of various types. It used to be the only choice was print.  So I can live with a build review on youtube.

on another note

it does sound like in the interview they intend an E, I like their style and so would go for their version over Dragon or Eduard.

To be clear, since the Dragon/DML kit is the optimal choice, I left the "others" out intentionally.

An early E1, would be fine.

Yous guys can have all the -109Es ya want ......... right after they do a Lysander, Typhoon and a Tempest! I like -109s too [got several on the display shelf] but let's have a variety of subjects[mix it up]. To be fair I'll be getting the K-4 too and a G-10 [if they really do decide to do one].  After those 2 ,that'll be about it for me and -109s,speaking ONLY for myself.

To be fair the late 109 from the G onwards are in my humble opinion poorly done at the moment .You only have to look at the amount of AM needed to correct errors in the current range of kits . I do accept bias as these are my favorites that said the Hurricane is on the to get list . I agree there are plenty of other kits that need a make over in 32nd the Typhoon is a great candidate but i suspect the list of possible projects is as Mark said pretty long . Is there a clue in their numbering 1-9 is Spitfires 9-15 bf 109 ,15 onwards Hurricane . I just cant wait for my K and i have not been this keen to get my hands on one for a while ,so lets hope its soon

Why? If equipped with large (660 x 190) wheels and wheel bulges, I thought they were identical.

True, a G-10 would need some new tooling.

But a lot is common. A rather time- and work-consuming part of kit design work is testing and correcting fit and build ability issues. In this case, that work should be minimal.

I'm very curious to read what Lynn Rittger will tell about late G/K in his forthcoming book!
