Having just completed the Hasegawa K-4 kit,

JTK-3353-Enhanced-NR.jpg

I was not contemplating pre-ordering Kotare's K-4.  But after reading Mr. Robson's last post and wanting to help a model company that is enthusiastically engaging the LSP community, I've decided to do it!  Bring it on!  Don't care about the markings options provided since I have the Portrait cutter.  Maybe Black 15?

But... Kotare site won't let me put in my pre-order! What's the "trick"?

False alarm!  I was able to put the pre-order in.  The "trick" for me was typing in my mailing address until the system recognized it and offered it as a pull-down choice.  Once selected, I was able to make payment and complete pre-order process.

Beat me to it.    Great to read about the awesomeness of Version 2.0 but some pictures would be much appreciated so we can make our own determination.

Pleased that Kotare took our feedback into account, wish more manufacturers (talking to you Trumpeter / Hobbyboss) had this outlook.

Still having the issues with ordering on the Kotare website. I was hoping that would have been resolved by now but no luck.

Talk to the original poster Mark Robson, as he 'runs the place' at Kotare.

Apologies for the drift...

I'm wanting a Spitty Mk Vb. Are they still available?

There is a guy over on Britmodeller who has stated the kit can be relatively easily backed dated to a G-6AS. Does anyone who is expert on this airframe have any thoughts on that?

Kind regards,

Paul

I think “easily” is a bit of a stretch.  First, the K-4cockpit is distinctly and noticeably different than any previous 109G.  Secondly, the front of the aircraft is different than an AS variant, the oil cooler I believe is different, there are a few detail differences in the cowl.  The radio hatch and some of the access panels on the K-4 are in different locations or not on G models (MW50/GM1?).  Only the panel locations are easily corrected.

Thought so... but wanted to hear it from someone who knows.

Thank you!
