Hopefully a good show was had by all - any photos?

Disappointing that there was no update on the DACO Magister decals, but I'm hopeful we'll eventually see them. I really want to crack on with mine - but on hold for now...

Hi all,

Long time since i posted something.

I went on Saturday afternoon with my son. I asked Danny if he had any idea when the second batch of Fouga Magister kits would be available, but he currently had no idea. They won't be released until the decals are done and currently had no idea when they would be finished. He didn't go into detail why, but it sounded like he had some more imported stuff to worry about.

For the rest it was nice. Good selection of vendors and some very nice models in the competition.

grtz,

Ian

I wonder what’s more important than to deliver the goods that his clients have paid for and still waiting. :hmmm:

This was Dannys' last word regarding the decals.

Hi guys,

First of all: big SIGH here when reading some posts...

Okay (taking a deep breath), the decals: THEY STILL HAVE TO BE DESIGNED and - as I want everything to be as 100% perfect as possible - this is not an easy 5 minutes-job (the research process takes most of the time). I also have other projects going on, for example 2 jobs for Revell, so I can not work all time on the Fouga decals even if you find you're entitled to them...

I've decided to use these decals also for the next main batch, so they will be printed by Cartograf and not by a smaller company. And knowing that Cartograf has a waiting-queue of several months, don't expect them in your mailbox in the next few months...

Now some good news:

These last two weeks I've been drawing instruments (what a boring job) and I still have to do the research for the non-Belgian-Fouga instruments, so I hope you will enjoy them when you see them on the decal sheet, even if they are all as individual decals. Also, I 'm working on getting a set of 3D-decal-printed straps, but I've no idea if it will work.

I’d guess Danny C is too busy with his two jobs for Revell that he was forced to delegate a third party to post his reply in a thread devoted to the Hoboken -Antwerpen show.
For more exposure, Daco’s reply should be posted in a new thread under an appropriate title.

Rest assured. Nobody thinks they were spontaneously generated. :coolio:

Dozens other companies also work with Cartograf yet none of them keep their customers waiting.

The Fouga kit is advertised and marketed in its multiple international versions and features different IP and other miscellaneous details. It’s normal that the relevant instrument decals are included. Hopefully, there’s no Chinese version because we’d be waiting even much longer

I'd like to chime in to record my strong agreement with Quang on this issue.

While I recognize that Mr Coremans is running a small business, and is probably quite busy, what I do not like about this is the way I feel he treats his customers - as if we were a nuisance who think they're entitled to the decals.

No, Mr Coremans, we are entitled to the decals.  When you sold these kits, you made it clear we would have them.  Not immediately, but we would have them.  And on that note, it's your poor planning that has led to you selling the kits before you even completed an integral part of the kit.  You have responded to inquiries about the decals with condescension and impatience, and haven't (to my knowledge) responded publicly about them since November of last year, which is 5 months ago.

Telling people that apparently you have no idea when they're going to be ready is not reassuring.  You need to step up and give your customers the courtesy of informing them as to what's going on, and give us a reasonable time frame as to when we can expect them.  Remember, we trusted you when we gave you our money.  You should respect us enough to keep us informed, and not treat us as if we were a nuisance to ignored and sighed over.

I wouldn't buy a new kit from any brand if the decals are not incluided.

We’re not naive, we know all that.

A few people (like myself) who bought the Fouga kit did it first to support a one-man venture. Having said that, everyone who paid for the kit firmly believes he would get the decals some weeks (not months nor years) later.

We did it because we trusted the seller. Now to know if we put our trust in the right individual is just a matter of live and learn.

Happy Sunday everyone,

Quang

Does anyone have contacts with decal manufacturers? I was thinking Berna or Max decals might be persuaded (given 300 modellers have been left in the lurch🤓) to upscale their 1/48 sets to 1 /32.
Im not really interested in Belgian schemes anyway. I know we would end up out of pocket, but the kits are redundant at the moment and for the foreseeable future.

I honestly have no idea how that would work.  The Max decals are very attractive, and I'd buy them.

(Edit: I forgot earlier that 3rd party decals don't solve the problem of the instrument panels.)

It's a pity we have to resort to doing the manufacturer's job for him.  Doesn't Coremans realize he's hurting himself here?  He claimed he'd need at least 2500 sold kits to make his money back.  At this rate, he's going to find it hard to get people to trust him with their cash.

Use airscale instrument decals. They can’t be seen from a foot away anyway.

Why does anyone who spent EUR135 for a complete kit should pay another EUR20 or so, in order to finish it… and get some approximate result?
