This was one of the most involved conversions I've done: taking the Laminar Flow Design Vc conversion, adding it to the Kotare Models Va fuselage, blending that with the Tamiya IXc wings and landing gear. You might be asking why: the Kotare fuselage has the raised rivets already, and the fit to both the conversion and the Tamiya kit is almost flawless. I just needed to sand the floor of the Kotare cockpit so the wing would fit. Otherwise I painted all markings and scratchbuilt the crowbar for the pilot's door. A seamless conversion.

Really tidy work and flawless finish.

Great job

Thank you! Your work really inspired me and gave me the impetus to see this through.

Great job, the finished article looks like a store bought kit rather than a mish mash of several other kits blended into one.

Great modelling.

Thank you Dennis! I must admit I’m pretty proud of this one. It was a bit of a risk combining the kits with the conversion set.

Great show, really love this one.

Rick.

Thank you Rick! I had a lot of fun overall with this one, even more than with my Spitfire XIV build.

A remarkable build in many ways Tom. Hard to believe what it would take to make a modern Mk Vc, to replace Revell's kit from the Pleistocene. Your combination of components is incredible on its own, but then to throw in a Malta colour conundrum is really brave. Well done too for changing the colours mid project, and delivering such a great result in the end.

Cheers!

Thank you Sean! Your comment made my day. Your Reisen build is just one example of your work that has inspired me for a long time so it means a lot. And yes, a convoluted path to that Vc, but that just means Kotare will be announcing their release imminently 😊.

Iain, thank you! I'm glad this one came together okay. It was nip and tuck at first!

Beautiful Spitfire, Tom! The colors turned out great!

Thank you John! I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to building a Vb Trop whenever Kotare releases theirs, and it will definitely be a Malta bird.

Cheers,  Tom
