Happy happy joy joy! I just found a model kit that I have been looking for since I switched over to 1/32 scale the past umpteen zillion years ago.

It is COBI TOYS #5754 Dornier DO 17Z-2 in 1/32 scale.

Was its existence mentioned in this forum? Yeah I know. I should have been following this forum more often. Shame on me!

I have been writing novels for the past 8 years and got all involved in that.

Never fear, I am back. Yeah I know, who cares?

I just found the kit on ebay. There were three listed so I bought the one that cost about $80, rather than the one listed for over 200 smackers.

It was delivered within a week. Right now I am in the middle of my third book and as soon as I can finish writing that I will jump back into modeling.

Keep 'em flying.

My 20 year old son is a big fan of Cobi and Lego.  He has quite a collection of Cobi tanks and planes.  I know he does not have this one but he has a number of Cobi planes.  On the lego side last year he built the Mandalorian UCS Razor Crest, that one took him about two weeks.

Would love a 1:32 Do 17Z for the BoB collection, but not a blocky Cobi.

Was hoping Revell Germany might do it, but we're two eras on from the one that spawned the He 111P-1 and Ju 88A-4.

I shudder a bit at buying a Ju 87 — the iconic weapon of the Nazi regime — but might succumb to a Trumpeter A, B or G. Is it just the (undersize?) nose/radiator that's at fault? I have a real love-hate relationship with the Stuka, but I can't deny myself history or that uniquely evil gull shape and spatted undercart.

So I looked it up and this is what popped out. Am I missing something?

I took the OP at his word, he can speak for himself, this is what I assume he meant.  It is surprising how many adults like to snap bricks together to make things they like.  I found the Lego Concord a little tempting, and have long liked their Land Rover options.  I meet with a group of business owners on Friday's and we have a couple Lego builders in the group and I am the scale modeler in the group.  I equate Lego and Cobi, the main difference to me is that Cobi does military subjects that Lego won't touch.

There was a pop-up shop in my home town last year that sold these.

No sir you didn't miss anything . I didn't know anything about COBI TOYS so it was aYeahoo moment until this came up and then the Yeahoo turn into Yeegads. To be fair my Grandson would probably dig this but I'm STILL waiting for someone to do a big scale Dornier Do-17,Hey Revell, what'sa matter you?

Cobi makes cool stuff and a lot of their sets are at least in line with the major model scales.  My son and I have done several of their sets over the years.  Their instructions, overall QC, and engineering are nowhere near what Lego delivers, but most of the builds have been very fun experiences.

The key word in that post is 'fun' 😁

Yup, I built Cobi's 1/12 scale Tiger I. It was an incredible kit, and the blocky nature of the Tiger makes it perfect for blocks. 7000+ pieces took me a week to build (it has a full interior) and I was impressed. Not sure if I will do a plane as the curves aren't usually so great.

Here it is next to my 1/35th Tiger I:
