As Hubert said, no chance I would be ever able to handle this level of awesome. Joy to follow!

Cheers

Martin

Thanks Martinnfb.

very kind words. as you know my first hand to hand experiance with a ship, this scale...oh well the rest, not to mention all that PE, im very glad you like my adventure Mals Way...hmmm more like Mals Obsession 😆 soon.

But must admit this build sure pushed me indeed in many aspects.

but hey, more aces in the sleve when back in 1:32 that im looking forward to, yep Mals Way and helluva time saga.

and last, gained huge respect for ship modellers what good modellers can do.

Phenomenal work, Mal ( and a daily reminder of the reasons why I have given up trying to build 1/350 ships ;) )

« You call’n me 🐓 ? »  :fight:

Damn right you are, Kevin !

When I was killing my eyes working on the (scratchbuilt) capstan of a 1/600 RMS Mauretania, I decided I had to stop the insanity :frantic: !

So, now, I just add teeny weeny details to 1/32 aircrafts 😂

Seen builds 1:700 with PE, geez thats small....

But now when 3D printers are improving fast, each newer generation, details and all that, lesser building more painting then i think in the future, risk of takin the joy of doin things by own hand...detailing/scratch/repair.

Yes the 3D prints are very highly detailed and will be superior imo in the future.

Only on thing botheres me with 3D printed part is the layers, and can not really be primed away compared to injection/resin cast that are smoother finnishes....but that will also be when the layers becoming even smaller (higher resolution).

Got a 3D printed engine for my Arado, ill compare it with the kits own when building that one, and yes ill share it here on LSP when its coming closer.

Also, if want a floatplane on the deck, well need to start building that one soon, as more and more parts coming in place, lol painting aircraft in 1:350 lol thats something new haha...

Hmmmm, things do pop up in my mind. scratchin my head little....

The platform, lower hull, there will be a railing, hmmm, white or orange....White sure pops out, but orange weirdly feels as it should be....i mean, why change color when painting there in real world.

got to sleep on that matter 🤪

Yep...no sleep needed.

Realized that the railing are slack between em poles, so rope i guess ...therefore paint em ropes whiteish And poles orange...hmmm.

not sure here a bit ambivalent, ill figure something out

Little more done, lifeboats in place, and no damaged railings, nothing, as really didnt want to do any redoings at this stage had to maneuver very gently, and the real fiddly part were to get the supporting struts under two of them bigger boats.....geez.

Well this birds nest of mine looks like getting closer to the end lol.

No more holes on the decks as all id occupied with parts, now next, streetlamps on the deck, nah deal with that tomorrow lol.

Forgot to ad...

Im not a slave under the manual suggestion in things, if in for manual, many of em stairs would be brown all over, and many other things during this build.

and firstimer on ships, na ill override the manual in colors LoL

it got to look cool in the glass cabinet....

Manuals suggestion.
