Yep. im with you.

Used PVA glue o  few spots, adjust to right place, then CA on spots when in right position. even used diluted PVA glue with water, even thinner, its sticky, and thats the key, let dry for few minutes, then CA.

Right glue in right places, some of em part are only with PVA or Kristal Kleer, its strong enough for the part.

beleive me, geez a crash course in PE for me....

And ill assure you i do mistakes, who doesnt, but im damn quick learner fast in what NOT to do LoL.

That's the trick were to use what and you've figured that out  just want to commend you on the subtle weathering thus really adds character.I do just enough to say she 's been at sea for a couple three months check out Paul's build got some neat tricks.

Thank you, yes i will a link.

yes will later start with weathering the hull, break up the orange little, sunlight, few hull plates, subtle, as will use oils later, dirt and rust, and most important seasalt line that occurs on the hull and stains.

Okidoki, here we go.

that djonk type boat, didnt like it open, supposed to be covered with kanvas, must do something about this.

First, that crane must be fixed, remove the attachment arm replace em with pins, brass tube in the boat, as the canvas goes all the way up, looked at reference photos, as way easier mount it later in the build.

also mounted a frame, covered it with silk paper soaked with water and pva glue, form it, wrinkles and all that.

Mounted a jigg.

And done, yep it will work for me.

dry fit so all matches in color and dirt with rest of the ship

Allright, one of the main reason to build a ship is never done one of course, also new in weathering , learn new weathering, open sea and salt, sun, all that...that will be benefit for my upcoming project, theme sea.

and last things came today, and yes i only do one build at the time, due small mancave, but its mine, mine alone...

Got many weeks left on this so dont worry, it will go to the finnish line before even considered to start new project.

So knowing this funbuild to another funbuild later, Jihaaa.

And my small mancave, yes perfect for me. (apartment 59 square meters i  total one bedroom, livingroom, big kitchen and small build room), rebuilded clothes chamber room to amancave for building...yes due size many resets during builds and organize after each sessions.

Allright, good and bad news.

Bad news first.

Lifeboats, they been cleaned away by mistake, damn it, my mistake...oh well.

Good news, found one second hand the one that comes without PE, few hundred sek, around $20 lol. so can cannibalize parts from that kit.

So in a good way, got a second run on em lifeboats lol...

Meanwhile when that is on the way, decals on, started with panel line washes on the hull, next step wearhering the hull, the model gets more fragile on each step with pe parts, so crucial its done now, avoid much as possible unnecessary moving around....

Looking forward to weather this, rain streaks, rust, salt....

no smoking decal in place.

That’s a cool-looking model, Mal. I sold mine as 1/350 is just too small for me nowadays … So Kudos for you and what you achieved for your first ship 👍 !

As as few that know me here on LSP (with pauses between builds) usually 1:32, now try between em do something else, well hey never done before that, hell yess lets have a helluva time build then, new things to learn and master to take it with you on next project, techniques, weathering, and along have fun, and yes thats the main part, and therapy.

but must admit this build is crazy fun and a obsession, first time ship and civilian...lol.

im pretty shure after this will return to build a ship indeed.
