This is looking excellent.  Hard to believe you haven't done a ship model before.  A very professional job!

Thanks Alex, and no never done a ship before,

think its good to do something completely different in building, develop new learned skills and all that you can use in future builds, as in my case usually build aircraft in 1:32, try between builds try something new.

Allright,

Spotlights....dang, must do something, wont pant em silver as glass, nope, drill em out shallow, lol in this scale seriously, well always go my own path in building, the who know me it is not a surprise haha.

And in place, painted em, and the reflector, glass is UV resin, real hard to see on the pics, but they are there and flush with the glass frame.

img_2424.jpg

another angle, gives depth on em spots imo, small details that ad to the whole.

img20450.jpg

note white flake between em vinches...yes saw it myself on the pics, no worries its only a plastic tiny flake, so no goof here lol. and its gone now.

img20451.jpg

More vinsches in place, also beleive gas tubes, even painted em valves gold, hard to see, they are so tiny lol. dry brushed gentle with oils, so it pops out subtle, vinsches and tubes.

Looks nice Mal.  It is a different game from 1/32. I'm working on a 1/350 Saratoga, and break it up with a 1970s Italeri 1/35 Dodge weapons carrier- box stock. The 1/350 parts are smallish, so the 35th parts are a good break. Helps planning my next stage on the ship as well.

Have you planned your base?

Thanks Mike, sounds great, and yes i think doin something smaller is good, develop.more skills, things get even easier when goin back to 1:32 lol...

yes i do, dry dock with one side wall, concrete, and the ship will rest on some concrete blocks dont know what its called in english exacly.

WooW, like the build desk, many fine finnished models came alive on that desk ill bet.

Also went thru every post on that build, impressive, many hours of fun.

You know many says its impossible with things like to many parts or to big, its like when trying to eat an elephant, many says its impossible, i say no, give it time you see, suddenly finnished it

and its so true.

Love that work on your Sharnhorst,

and beleive me got big respect for shipbuilders after i started mine and seen others builds such as yours and others.

Allright.

PE time more seriously, as i wrote earlier, yes done PE but never in this way, Ship modellin is something else, and way more challenging and difficult but as i think always must try even if hard, when getting there things get easier, and later easy peasy, as experiance grows, every one got their first timer, in this case even for me, building a ship, and must admit i do not regret this kit, in fact the opposite, i do really love this challenge, as ive encounter indeed reql new things, and as i wrote earlier, glue flat PE parts in a cockpit do not count as ive done it dozens of time....but thats me.

and ill take allt with me when doin a new build in 1:32 scale aircraft.

And yes Mals Way as usual lol.

enlugh talkin, Over to em pics.

PE assembly...usin whatever i can get hands on, stones, knives, teeth, tools, whatever, its in place at last lol.

One thing that awaits, rigging a ship, geez never done that either before..lol, well this saga aint close to the end, the adventure continues

Railing I use CA other parts I use a white glue I think it's called Mr,Tacky here stateside and I use that for small pieces and small sections of railing it dries pretty quick. The glue allows you just enough time to move about about 3/4 minutes and once dry is flexible weras CA the bond can break...CA on long rails around the hull and the white for much everything else ...outside railing is the last thing to be applied no more handling.;)
