Mal_Belford Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Thanks Paul for em kind words. sure need em, this build as i wrote earlier, used to aircraft but this is something else, all steps need thinking, paint and assembly, yes manual says one thing but em steps yaikes, mask, paint, mask paint, mask paint, if lucky freehand....and it goes on lol. PE next...yaih. Martinnfb 1
Mal_Belford Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 (edited) Gha....lol, PE therapy when its best, had to do them before i can continue with upper structure. Steps with rail, real tiny eh, my hand as comparrison Fit is suberb, but minor gaps will be taken care of with Valleojos Waterbased putty, whipe clean with a cotton stick Edited March 17 by Mal_Belford Martinnfb, Sparzanza, Phantom2 and 7 others 10
Mal_Belford Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Progress, upper structure command bridge. if done as build manual says, ends up with gaps between the walls, better to build it as one module, and it slides down nicely without gaps. Also rear upper deck edge fixxed. And a reminder how small it is.. Martinnfb, denders, Javlin1 and 10 others 13
Mal_Belford Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Got few hours of build time this evening. Looks like little but not, painted details, command bridge done, couple decals in place and so on, weathering needs ro start soon or else impossible without damaging or no room to do so. Will use Tamiyas Panel washes various colors and mix, oils and AK pigments... ligthten up "panels" on the hull due sun bleach and salt. Almost all colors are home cocktails Tamiya and MRP, exept few as they were in my eyes perfect straight. all is dry fitted. patricksparks, Javlin1, Shoggz and 7 others 10
Mal_Belford Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Thanks Martinnfb for them kind words. Adding, yes i masked all windows and vent windows yes wit tape used a punch to do em small round ones...payed of indeed. Martinnfb 1

No build updates this Weekend, maybe late Sunday, as got two concerts/shows to do late Friday and Saturday night. Next step is panel line washes for the wood deck and oils, rust. got to build some sort of jig for this model when PE frenezi starts, it becomes more fragile when handling when parts fall in to place Martinnfb and Out2gtcha 2
