Is their a way to remove the kit stand?I buy door knobs at your local hardware store and drill them all the way through the destroyer is the kit supplied. The wood you see there is Sapele a cheap African Mahogany but I do wood work also Mal have a decent shop just outside the model/office room it's another hobby.;)

No wood base, also its not glued....

As this stand will not be permanent, its only temporary, will have a base with concrete or wood blocks like railway sleepers, dry dock look.

This temporary base will be painted gor an idea for that meanwhile

That came out looking great Mal!  A really awesome build, especially realizing the small size of the ship.

Great build, Mal  ! I enjoyed   Every minute of it !

And nice idea with the base,. Given the role of the Soya in Antartic explorations, I thought you’d go for something more « icy », but your choice is very effective 👍 !

Again, for a first ship build, you got it « right the first time »

to much small details and all that on a base with pinguis and a sledge idea icy and with ladders, nope...would look hmm missing words here...well think you gtr the idea, wanted more metal industrial look 1950 with rivets all rust and all that would suit this ship and yes it payed of, yes visualize alot in my mind what works and not,

many times yes, and yes few times Nope lol

Absolutely beautiful ship, Mal!

Still think you should go for the 1/200 Yamoto; I would love to see that!

BTW, next time you go outside, wave to my brother, he is wandering around Stockholm somewhere. Our ancestors, up to great grandfather, were from Sweden.
