These are both Dragon Mustangs in 1/32. Boy were they a bear. They make a presentable Mustang but if you wanted perfection it would be another week or two to straighten these out. As it was I had to fill a nearly an 1/8” seem on the wings of the K model. That was a pain because it was in NMF and that shows everything! I just made these a fun build. The decals are from The Fine Art of Decals, Pyn Up series. AWESOME DECALS! They were the whole basis for the build as I’ve started a collection of “Redheads”. I did the Blonde just because it came with the set 😉
Worked on a base in between paint colors and waiting on things to dry. Finished up the build today, and in keeping with the dual element of this build i present them both to you!

Planes ‘n dames, what’s not to love :clap2:. I haven’t checked the originals but I feel the redhead is a trifle oversized. What do you think?

Well done. I like the aircraft in flight. I have built three of the Dragon Mustangs and I agree they are a challenge. Very poor cockpit and many, many rivets. From a cost perspective I like the Revel and Revel Germany Mustangs. Not as detailed as the Tamiya Mustangs but a very nice representation of a Mustang.

Honestly, it looks pretty close compared to the pictures I have. I came to the conclusion that the dragon nose was more rounded than it should be over the top of the fuselage and it made her head look like it rolled backwards. I initially wondered if she was too tall. Her elbows, knees and toes look like they’re in the right location tho based on the period photos I have.

😂 now I keep thinking about it! Maybe it’s the size of her head, a bit too round or just a bit oversized I might say 🤔

Very nice! I was wondering if Dragon ever corrected any of the kit. In the later k kit did Dragon adjust the cockpit floor and forward firewall to fit or are they still to narrow?

Thanks

I do have the later model after they made those adjustments. The only major issue I had was the wing roots, and that was just on the K model, The D was OK. The rest is just super oversized rivets. The dang rivets are so tall that they poked through the decals. 🤣
