artoor_k Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Hello, I've always wanted to have upgraded AH-64 from 1998 "Godzilla" movie. These upgraded Apaches had longer stub-wings with three hardpoints on each one along with reinforcement beams mounted to engine nacelle and side sponsons, larger (longer and more bulky) engines, three cannons (one standard and two more on each side of cockpit-please, don't ask , it is nonsence, muzzle flash from the guns mounted on the side would interfere with the pilot and the gunner's night vision. ) and additional stabilizers on bottom of each front sponsons. I had one approach to this Apache in my modelling past, this will be second, maybe succesful this time These are photos of 1/8 movie miniatures. Since movie sequences with Apaches are very dark then I'm limited to these two (!!!) photos. Maybe, just maybe I'll add Master cannons but they're not cheap and I need at least two, better three. More soon... KiwiZac, patricksparks, BloorwestSiR and 5 others 8
KiwiZac Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I rather enjoy models of "fake" aircraft, be they movie props or other mock-ups, so I'm eager to see more of this!
BloorwestSiR Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) This should be a fun build. I recently did something similar and made a JASDF F-15 Kai from the Patlabor 2 anime. Lots of kitbashing with that one too. Carl Edited March 19 by BloorwestSiR Fix typo
artoor_k Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 It starts... After long measuring, side gun mounts are ready. Basic shape of engine bulk is finished too. Now I have to buy epoxy putty for final shaping. Landrotten Highlander, Philbucknall, KiwiZac and 2 others 5
