vvwse4 Posted June 9, 2025 Author Posted June 9, 2025 (edited) Tried to make the paint look like it has been in the sun for a while. Made some progress this long weekend, it was nice. Tomorrow back to buseniss I am afraid. Rick. Edited June 9, 2025 by vvwse4 Javlin1, Anthony in NZ, Shoggz and 11 others 14
Alain Gadbois Posted June 16, 2025 Posted June 16, 2025 Looking good! Excellent masking job! vvwse4 1
vvwse4 Posted June 30, 2025 Author Posted June 30, 2025 Little progress, but the Spitfire starts to look like what I had in mind. Does any know where I can find the file for the serial number for the Silhouette printer? Rick geedubelyer, patricksparks, Phantom2 and 7 others 10
geoawelch Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 Sharp looking build. Love the masked details. vvwse4 1
vvwse4 Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 Put on the serial numbers, allowed myself some artistic freedom. Started the weathering, used a brownish sludge wash, yes that went well!!!! After that the real weathering. I am trying real hard not to overdo it but I want to give the plane a Malta look, dust and more than well used. Your thoughts about this so far would be appriciated. vvwse4 Posted August 4, 2025 Author Posted August 4, 2025 Started the weathering on the underside. It aint no Merlin if it doesn't leak oil.... Used the picture as a reference I might make it on time. Rick Kais, Landrotten Highlander, Phantom2 and 9 others 12
geedubelyer Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 Great oil staining. That really looks the part. vvwse4 1
Phantom2 Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 A Spitfire can´t be too dirty undernieth, nice work! Stefan vvwse4 1
geoawelch Posted August 12, 2025 Posted August 12, 2025 Coming along quite nicely Cheers George vvwse4 1
vvwse4 Posted August 17, 2025 Author Posted August 17, 2025 Getting close to the finish, I might make it on time. A lot of small jobs left. Rick Kais, Daniel Leduc, geedubelyer and 6 others 9
vvwse4 Posted August 27, 2025 Author Posted August 27, 2025 She is ready!!! and I made the deadline which is nice also. It was a nice kit to build but I found it has some issues but I took care of them. And the difference between 1/35 and 1/32nd scale is more than I expected. I parked her and it is getting buzzy out there. Hope you like it and this concludes my contribution to this group build which I really enjoyed!! geedubelyer Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 Lovely job Rick. Heaps of character. I appreciate the size comparison between the two scales. Fascinating to see. Well done. vvwse4 1
James Rademaker Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 Well done. I agree that there is a significant difference in scale between 1/32 &1/35. It looks like a nice model to build. Thanks for submitting your WIP. Jim vvwse4 1
