That looks bloody great Tolga - thank you for showcasing the kit so well

With the production kit printed to higher tolerances, in my humble opinion I really think it could be a good one :)

Thanks a lot Peter

And another thank you for giving me this test build opportunity. Much appreciated

Now there's an understatement.  And if a customer is interested in a truly unusual subject, he/she would have one.  Not a Mustang or a Bf-109 or a Spitfire- a Defiant.  Cool factor is in the stratosphere - a model that ought to have the judges stop and gaze for a while.  And Tolga has demonstrated great modeling skills wrestling with this thing and making it a very convincing replica.

Having said that, a couple of my toughest builds over the years were resin kits.  Rutman P-47D and P-51B, in 1/32 scale.  These kits were giant challenges due to fit-up issues mostly.  Diamonds in the rough, very rough.  It took an extraordinary effort to transform into good models - effort well beyond what the average modeler ever sees or is willing to put up with.  Peter has the opportunity to take in all the lessons learned from this prototype build, and have the Defiant begin to approach a normal build (Tamiya or HK, etc) where parts actually fit together fairly well and are relatively murphy-proof.  One that a more expansive modeling population could handle.  A tall order given the lack of resources a major model manufacturer has, but doable.  If anyone can, Peter can.

Yes Jay,  Peter has done a great job. The structure design and elimination of difficulties are very successful. What could have been a very difficult kit has become very user-friendly. Yes Peter could have done it and he did

Great job Tolga! :clap2:

Not raining on this parade, just FYI for any future builds.

My research suggests that the insides of the undercarriage doors were painted the same colour as the lower surfaces.
