There's still hope that Italeri or Revell might come through with the missing items over the next few years: tin-wing Harriers, Jag etc.

Yet this year is very bountiful: grey plastic Hawk, Meteor 8, Hunter 7, Tornado GR.1 and likely the F-4B. Not counting the Sea Fury and Sea Hurricane, and (for those who want them) those semi-fictional Horton boomerangs, the Arado floatplane re-pop and the Italeri Macchinations. That's at least three years' worth of projects.

What I regret most is that if Trumpeter doesn't do it, no other manufacturer will. Not that they are not capable, but simply because they lack courage. Most manufacturers are afraid of 1/32...  There are things that only Trumpeter can do...

Without turning this into yet another wishlist- if Airfix did the Jag in 1/24rth?........ stands well back from the ensuing deluge of wishlisting and speculation.

They could be a likely candidate to do one ,after all they are coming out with one though in 48th. So they do have some data on the thing ,whether they will or not is an open question.

Gee, I didn't know the over the wing air to air missiles were mounted on the wing fences, learn somethin' new ever day[ sarcasm mode switched off] that ain't even right. I'm also of the understanding that the aux air inlet doors are supposed to be closed when the engines aren't running[ think B-52H]. I'm no expert on Jags but this is what stood out to me.

Like others I'm waiting for a polythene wrapped remove-parts-from-sprues styrene edition for €150. (The same way I'm waiting for about 5 other planes that are unlikely to happen either.)

I'm sure it can be licked into shape, but after wrestling with three Trumpeter kits — an ongoing scrap — I'm not in the mood to pay a large sum just to add another fight. Nice and easy assembly job required, to sooth battered mojo.

The rear fuselage under the fin shows he same squshed pancake look the original Airfix 1990s 1/48 kit suffered from, since corrected in their 2024 new tool.
