jwest21 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 So does the Skyraider fuselage have a slight twist to it around the tail or is my ZM kit warped? I remember reading about some plane being a little asymmetrical for aerodynamic reasons so Im hoping this isn't warping. BiggTim 1
jwest21 Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Thank you. That's a relief. CRAZY IVAN5 and BiggTim 2
thierry laurent Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Actually many propeller planes had an asymmetry somewhere to compensate the powerful engine torque. Alas, quite often this is ignored by manufacturers as this is rarely a very obvious feature. BiggTim, CRAZY IVAN5, Fanes and 2 others 5
Pete Fleischmann Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I bet you a dollar someone will get a ding by an IPMS judge for this… P BiggTim, LSP_Ray, monthebiff and 5 others 5 3
Juggernut Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Quite possible…IPMS judges are not always the most knowledgeable folks, especially at the local level. BiggTim, CRAZY IVAN5 and jwest21 3
quang Posted February 3 Posted February 3 The 1/32 ZM Skyraider is the only model kit which includes this feature. Another particularity is the kink on the back of each propeller blade, also present on the ZM kit. CRAZY IVAN5, BiggTim, firefly7 and 2 others 4 1

wunwinglow Posted February 3 Posted February 3 The fuselage contours are a lot better than the Trumpeter kit too, I found this out when trying to plot out the 'hump' on my AEW1 conversion project. The Trumpeter kit is too 'plump'.

Kaeone57 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) Not to add any fuel to the fire, but Revell did it also on their F4U-1 and etc... That deflection on the horizontal fin has been documented, well, rendered on a few kits prior... Not gonna list them all but.. yeah that's been a known fact since I started seriously modeling in the mid '80's... I'm 50yrs young, so... Yeah! Lol Alfonso Edited February 4 by Kaeone57 CRAZY IVAN5 1
