1/32 Praga E-114M Air Baby - Scratchbuild

I decided to try a total scratchbuild. The model should be one of the most successful Czechoslovak designs - the pre-war and post-war Praga E-114 Air Baby. 

It is a very light and simple aircraft, comparable to the Piper Cub.

 

I am based on quite detailed 3 view drawings in the magazine Letectví a Kosmonautika.

Based on them, I created a simplified 3D model, from which I then take the dimensions of individual partitions and panels i any place.

After several rounds of sanding and sealing with ca glue, I can show the rear part of the fuselage here and see the front part.

Air Baby also owes its popularity to the self-stabilizing airfoil used. Here at the root, it had increased thickness to 18%.

The fuselage covering is finished (with the exception of the upper part of the bow), everything remains to be sanded. I am going to contact the manufacturer of the replica with a request to provide photos of the cockpit.
