Greetings all

I've always enjoyed the Stuka since I was a kid, so had it in the back of my mind to build a night attack version using the Owl markings. Managed to get hold of a Hasegawa G-2 (with Mater barrels) that I was going to convert into in D-8, but then as luck would would have it, I found a D-8 on an auction that fit the bill perfectly. So.....I suppose I will eventually get to building the night G-2, but this D-8 comes first.
So below is the version of the D-8 I was going to build, however, the kit markings and camo scheme are way more appealing to me.

So there we go. I'll be building that specific version as on the box art. The G-2 version I'll do at a later stage with the Owl markings...

As you can see from the above pics, I've the Aires interior set, Eduard masks and HGW belts for it. On the way is a Quickboost spinner and blade set, as well as a Yahu IP

Yep, I certainly hope it is! One issue I've found fettling around so far is that the forward/rear crew canopies are engineered NOT to open, which is a real pity as that resin cockpit is going to be hidden under a lot of glazing. Would have loved to at least have the front canopy open, but it's too thick to fit over the mid-glazing - and there do not seem to be any vac-form offerings at all out there......real pity

Hi,

I'm going to follow your editing because I'm planning, in the near future, to make a Ju 87 in the G2 "Kannonenvogel" version, perhaps with winter camouflage. Good start

Nachtschlachtgruppe 9 in Italy, am I correct? An interesting,  little-known aspect of the air war in that theatre.

Forgot previously to say I'm referencing this as well - wealth of info!

That is a very good book to have at hand if you are building any of the Sruka variants. As Iain mentioned, it's a bit of a must ha e.

Some more done on the Ju87, basically got the resin cockpit set out and removed from casting blocks, and dry-fitting/fitting into place.

The kits sidewalls are separate parts, so luckily there was minimal cleanup required to get these to fit. I did however, build up the kit cockpit main structures (sidewalls/floors, etc) to measure against the resin parts for fitment purposes. I will be using some of the kit parts together with the resin - just for ease pf build (and you'll never see the kit parts, eg. rear bulkhead. You can see where I've shaved some of the sidewall detail away for fit- these are hidden in the end.

Must say, whoever designed the master for these resin parts was really good - the detail is superb. The casting itself as well is really good!!

Yahu IP just tacked into place.

Aires floor and resin pieces. I've kept the kit gunmount and cartridge collection parts as it is just way easier to mount the Mg81Z's

Aires Mg81Z receivers, kit mount and Master barrel trunnions!

Aires parts, but replaced the handle on the right with some brass slide tubing

Bordfunker's seat- Aires and kit parts, and then the rudder pedal assembly.
