Separate pieces.

Personally, I’ll only use any nose art and will copy the decals to make masks for all the markings.

For future projects, I would check out the likes of @UpRise decals where there is no surrounding carrier film.

Super excited and hope this project is a massive success for you!

the single thing stopping me doing anything are transparencies - now that problem is undeniably solved :)

so thrilled :)

WOO HOO!    There you go.

Dam Peter - this is really something.  Of course, you are going to have to go to some sort of mass production technique and get some help if this takes off.  The injection molded transparencies can be mass produced right?

So masks will either be available separately for a small fee on the website, or the decals will have a QR code where you can get the file if you can print your own :)

I have spoken to Dimitry at Uprise about a few projects as Ray at Fantasy Printshop is retiring so I am getting a boatload of airscale stock before he does and then they will likely become my supplier :)

Hi Jay - yes, I am having 500 made as it's not much more and who knows if the kit sells over time I may need that many :)

V pleased about the potential collaboration with UpRise - I reckon the biggest beef with decals have to be 'silvering' and what many modellers feel like is the roulette wheel of outcomes when using them; filmless decals aren't always an option but they certainly take a lot of that uncertainty out of the equation

I know I keep saying it, but it's so cool to see this all coming together!

when will the kit be up 'live' on the website and is there a final price point? (sorry if that's all been covered a gazillion times)

kind regards,

Nick

Following on from Peter’s update, and I hope I’m not stealing his thunder, the QR code link to the masks for the markings are available here and here. I’m currently working on the masks for the canopy and turret which will be included in the kit.

Thanks for posting those, Max. Here are the links to the two files involved:

Just a note: you need to be a member of the Scale Model Paint Masks site to download these files. Membership is free, and we use the same software there as here.

Hey Peter ...

Following on from your recent post about the next kit - I was looking for the place to order this one (since it has now become a reality!) ... If you could forward me a private message here with any details to order (email etc) I would like to know what the state of play is ...

Regards

Rog :)

Hi Rog, thanks for your interest :)

There is nowhere to order yet as the kit is not ready and I am not taking pre-orders. This is for the simple reason I don't want anyone's money until I am 100% happy the kit is the best I can make it. Currently that depends on the transparencies, once I see those I will be more relaxed :)

Even so, there will not be any pre-orders - it's a bit like Glastonbury, I will announce well in advance the date and time the kit is available which will be hopefully a universally comfortable time of day for everyone and then make it live. There are 100 copies and once they are gone (if they are gone) then more will follow about a month after. This, I think is the fairest way. I will try and set a limit on purchases to two, someone has already said they want four as soon as it is out, so again, while I of course hope they sell out, I do want everyone who is interested to have a chance.

All the best

Peter

…is there a pre-order planned? 😃

As Peter said above, there is NO pre-order planned, it’s first come, first served. :D
