Hi hi

So as not to clutter up Tolga's build thread - I have a question

There is a choice of including full decals for the two aircraft featured in the kit (with parts for both), or masks for markings and decals for instruments

if you were buying a kit, what would you prefer?

RA-V for me!

edit…and I can cut my own masks. I usually do a hi-res scan of decals and then cut from that.

I will have a chat with Max about the masks, I have no idea what is involved - I would like to include both as I see this as a premium kit :)

In other news, the injection moulded transparencies started mould production today :)

Peter

Sounds good to me.

Cheers

Unless it’s for complicated nose art, 100% masks all day long

ok so there may not be a right or wrong answer here but I have another question...

decals must have a minimum of 0.5mm carrier film border all the way around them, so when doing markings for the side of an aircraft, you can have:

a) all the decals in their own carrier film - means you work harder to locate them, but there is far less carrier film to deal with

b) all the decals in one piece - assuring correct location, easy to apply but you have to deal with the carrier film

the choice is yours, what would be better?

Definitely less from my standpoint. Greatly reduces the risk of silvering on that lovely surface detail.

I agree with Tom. I tend to cut the carrier film away anyway whichever method is chosen but 'less is more'.

Kind regards,

The one-piece, multi-design decals on a single section of carrier film really only work in smaller scales. The advantages of being able to position all those markings accurately in one go are lost when you're trying to wrangle something that large onto a 1/32 scale model. So definitely separate pieces.

Peter,

This is a truly magnificent kit and I am amazed at all the excellent work you are putting into it. I can't wait to get my hands on one (maybe even two, (day fighter and night fighter) and would love to put my name on your pre-order list. I love the selection of the decals and the box art. Truly a fantastic piece of work that I can't wait to build.  Plesae let me (and others) know where to find your pre-order list so we can obtain this wonderful piece of art!

Hi Peter,

New member, wow this looks amazing!! You have obviously put a lot of effort into this, and should be justifiably proud of what you've achieved. Looking forward to see it when ready for commercial release.

AS for a next project .... would you consider a 1/32 Wimpey??   A Wellington in this scale wouldn't be too large hopefully - what do you think?

Mike.
