Dandiego Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) Chad Summers has produced another fabulous design. He is still in the final design process, refining and adding details. He will be sending me some prototype files for a test print. I don't have them yet. Chad is also in the process of determining the best way to Market/Produce/Share his design. I don't know how he will share the parts/files. I have been fortunate to receive some of his past creations, and they have been a blast to print out and model. The F-108 seems to be his most complete and and most detailed to date. It features extensive surface details, with complete cockpits and landing gear. And it looks like he has included a full missile bay with Aim-47 missiles. When I receive the files I will start a Work in Progress. In addition I just purchased and received a new resin printer. It is an Elegoo Saturn 3. It has a much larger build plate and 12k resolution. So the 108 will be the maiden project. Although I haven't got it up and running yet I expect a quantum leap in print quality over my Phrozen Mini. Dan Edited December 28, 2024 by Dandiego TankBuster, easixpedro, Gazzas and 24 others 27
Landrotten Highlander Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Looks like one beast of a plane. Will follow closely as I may be pursuaded to part with some cash... Dandiego and Martinnfb 2
Dandiego Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 LH, according to calculations it should be 33 inches long with a 24 inch wingspan. Dan Martinnfb and Gazzas 2

F`s are my favs Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I didn't even know that such a plane exists. Appears to be a monster, kinda reminds me of the Valkyrie. HF building it! Dandiego and Martinnfb 2
Dekon Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 OMG! Never thought I'd see this in 1/32. One of the greatest looking jets that never flew. Out2gtcha, D.B. Andrus, Dandiego and 2 others 5
Out2gtcha Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 To me, the F-108 always looked like the result of a love affair between an A-5 Vigilante and a XB-70 Valkyrie. Jack, geedubelyer, Martinnfb and 1 other 3 1
Tony T Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Looks amazing. Picked this thread up just this morning after posting a link in Discussion to the Britmodeller thread that derived from this one! Doh! Obviously a little too much Yuletide spirit! If it goes commercial it might prove irresistible. Really looking forward to seeing this take shape. Tony Out2gtcha, Martinnfb and Dandiego 3
AnthonyWan Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Will the files be available for sale? I'd love to print one of these in 1/48 to go with my HPH XB-70... Martinnfb 1
Dandiego Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 Anthony that is a good question, and I don't know the answer. Chad designs these aircraft as a hobby. In a recent conversation he mentioned how busy he is with his real job. So designing cad models has taken a back seat for now. If I find out anything I will post the info here. I am looking forward to building one as well. Dan Martinnfb 1
Dandiego Posted July 2 Author Posted July 2 Chad has sent me some of the first F-108 files. Currently printing fuselage cockpit sections. Photos when it is done. Dan turboprop4, Jim Barry, LSP_Kevin and 1 other 4
Dandiego Posted July 3 Author Posted July 3 Here are some screen shots of the STL files. This is going to be amazing. This will be a slow process for me as I am not a computer whiz. I need to separate the components and get them ready to print. Dan Dekon, Jim Barry, patricksparks and 8 others 10 1
Dekon Posted July 3 Posted July 3 My all time favorite X plane! Wish it got further than the wooden mock-up. Dandiego 1
