Erwin Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 (edited) Hi all, My third in this GB. I bought this at a convention yesterday. Got started a bit. Is this a toys ? Yes and no. The plastic is strange. The Revell glue I use doesn't bond. So I have to use super-glue. I would not give this to my 7-year old grandson ? His fingesr would be glued after one step. dutik Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Nice pick. Have this in the stash, with some AM for cockpit and uc. My one was made of a milky-whitish styrene. Cockpit is a bit basic and the uc legs are to long (fully extended as in flight), which might be both easily to correct. Nice decals provided. There are some shape/dimensional issues along wingroot, chord and depth of the rudder that should be ignored. Also it is said to be a A6M2, not A6M3, if I remember the reviews correctly. To be honest: I have no clue what makes the difference between A6M2 and A6M3 beside the paintjob Regards - dutik Martinnfb 1

I'm going with an overall color. It doesn't have to be 100 % correct. Like this... Edited December 16, 2024 by Erwin dutik, Phantom2, Martinnfb and 1 other 4
dennismcc Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 These kits turn out surprisingly well I have built the C205, Me 109G and a Stuka and was very happy with the results, the C202 and C205 need new main wheels though. Cheers Dennis Erwin and Martinnfb 2
James Rademaker Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 I have built the 21st century BF109F-4 once and plan on another. The shape is very similar to the Hasegawa 109G4 or 6. I agree the plastic is funky regarding glue. Super glue yes and I have found that Tamiya thin glue also works. I usually sand down the plastic to get rid of the “orange peal” surface. Have fun, Jim Erwin and Martinnfb 2
MikeMaben Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 They were originally sold as toys, which is why the landing gear is odd, it's meant to be retractable. It's also why they sold for about ten bucks. Have fun with it Erwin Erwin and Martinnfb 2

Erwin Posted December 26, 2024 Author Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) First coat of paint. I'm using Revell satin nr 371 light gray. It's the best I can find using Revell paint. This is most likely not correct. Edited December 26, 2024 by Erwin Shoggz, denders, MikeMaben and 5 others 8

coogrfan Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Note also that the 21c Zeros are basically a simplified copy of the Tamiya A6M5. As such they have the shorter span wings found on the A6M5.

MikeMaben Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Roy Sutherland of Barracuda Studios was involved with the design of the 21C kits. There was not alot of time spent on engineering as they 'were' designed to be sold as toys in Japan. Erwin 1
