Dainis Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Im thinking of purchasing the silentaire D150 for late night airbrushing. I know they are dear but I'm looking for some first-hand user experience input before I take the plunge. So if anybody has any experiences with the company's products I would like to hear from you if you"re up to it. Thanks coogrfan and chrish 2
thierry laurent Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 I have one Silentaire (as well as some friends). To me (and them), this is the Rolls Royce of compressors. Kagemusha 1
Jager Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 (edited) Totally agree that Silentaire compressors are worth the investment. Mine is 9-10 years old and works and sounds like it was brand new. I have mine sitting directly next to my paint booth. The exhaust fan for the paint booth makes more noise than the compressor. Go for it you won't regret it. Dainis Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 Thanks for the input. I'll take the plunge next week. Be nice to be able to paint late at night and not bother my better half. Is the weight a bother? I will have to move this about once or twice a week. Small price to pay I guess. Cheers and Happy Holidays!
thierry laurent Posted January 2 Posted January 2 No the weight is not an issue (in comparison with similarly sized compressors). Moreover they normally have a handle on the top of the body. So you can carry it like a suitcase.
Dainis Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 .Thanks. I thought that might be the case. I'm ordering it tomorrow then, no time like the present. and thanks again for everyone's input. cheers! Dainis
Dainis Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 One more thing: Does it come with a bottle of the synthetic oil?
thierry laurent Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Well, I got mine around twenty years ago... So, I cannot say for sure and this may have changed. Sorry.
Dainis Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 The compressor is arriving on Tuesday. And the distributor did reply to me that a bottle of the oil is included. I'm very much looking forward to some near silent airbrushing. Thanks to all for your two cents. Cheers! Dainis thierry laurent and chukw 2
Dainis Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 I have been using my silentaire compressor for a number of days now. Truly a Rolls Royce of airbrush compressors. I paint at midnight and no one in the house can hear it. Truly great product.
