mozart Posted January 3 Posted January 3 It’s all looking very smart Wouter, you’d never guess the surgery that has taken place to achieve this. Wouter 1
Troy Molitor Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Lovely efforts going on here. Thanks for sharing., mozart and Wouter 2
Uncarina Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I’m in love with this build! I really appreciate your audacious approach as I will be doing something similar, combining Kotare and Tamiya kits with a LFD conversion to create a Spitfire Mk.Vc. What you’ve done is inspirational. Cheers, Tom Wouter and mozart 2

monthebiff Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Looks superb Wouter, the lightly sanded rivets look very good indeed. Regards. Andy Wouter and mozart 2
dennismcc Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Looks like it was built from a kit, superb work, and the rivets look great. Cheers Dennis Biggles87, Wouter and mozart 3

Wouter Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 It is what it is Max. A shame your country took the B-exit a few years ago, but I'm confident they will arrive sooner than later. wunwinglow, mozart, Shoggz and 1 other 4
Wouter Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 So, just in time for the weekend the custom masks made by Max arrived at my doorstep. Thanks Max! I knew I was in for a lot of masking, but with patience it is certainly worth the result. There's probably someone who can tell a lot about masking, but that's not me. So I'll just show some pictures I made during the masking/painting process. Cheers, Wouter Fanes, Tolga ULGUR, LSP_Kevin and 12 others 15
mozart Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Great result Wouter, well done!!! 👌👋 Martinnfb and Wouter 2
dennismcc Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Looking good, for a minute I hought it was the same as my MDC build, but mine was EL*F. Cheers Dennis Martinnfb and Wouter 2
Wouter Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 So with painting complete I focused on the landing gear. In the end I opted to use the original Revell struts with the MDC wheels. Ofcourse I broke the wheel axle but this was to thin to fit in the MDC wheel anyway. So I drilled out the axle, inserted brass rod and voila, much better and sturdier. I made the hole in the MDC wheel was made smaller with evergreen rod to fit the brass axle. Works very well, the wheels now fit without play, no glue needed. Tailwheel insterted. Some repair work on the stabilizer needed. Landrotten Highlander, Shoggz, Martinnfb and 4 others 7
Wouter Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 (edited) Next up, attach the landing gear to the plane and enhance the lg bay. I didn't strive for 100% accuracy, but a few pipes and wires to liven up this space helps tremendously. Edited January 16 by Wouter words patricksparks, geedubelyer, Martinnfb and 11 others 14
mozart Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Very good Wouter, really looks the part. I read some years ago (no idea when nor written by whom) that the Revell legs are too long, though stupidly I didn’t take the chance to compare them with the MDC ones, but I will do when I get back from holiday!
