Shoggz Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 2 hours ago, geedubelyer said: I feel your pain Richard Something similar happened on my MkIX build after I used hairspray as my chipping medium. The coloured layer of paint remained extremely fragile all through the remainder of the build until I gave it a final sealing coat. Good luck with the renovations. It's purely a temporary setback. Cheers Guy. I had a bottle of Humbrol chipping fluid knocking around and I thought I'd give it a go. And I can report it works! Martinnfb and geedubelyer 2
LSP_Kevin Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Sorry to see this happen, Richard. I'm beginning to think that the "hairspray chipping" method is more trouble than it's worth a lot of the time. Too hard to control, too hard to predict, and too easy to go wrong. Good luck with your repairs! Kev MikeC, Martinnfb and Shoggz 3
Shoggz Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Well, I’m usually imbued with excess mojo, rather than a lack of it, but the loss of our beloved husky last week has knocked the wind out of my sails. She’s had a bit of a rough ride with various problems (gastroenteritis and a nasty abscess) since Last October, but seemed to be getting back to full feist, just to start being sick on Wednesday morning and she was gone by Thursday night, at 10 years old.. So, all is a bit gloomy in Shoggz-Towers currently. Christoffer Lindelav, LSP_Kevin, Landrotten Highlander and 14 others 17
mozart Posted February 16 Posted February 16 So sorry to hear this Rich, I know all too well how hard it is when you lose a beloved pet. Cling on to the memories. Shoggz and Martinnfb 1 1
Kagemusha Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Sorry to hear the bad news Rich, but as Max said, treasure the memories, and how much you enlivened each other's lives. Biggles87, Martinnfb and Shoggz 2 1
LSP_Kevin Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Sad news indeed, Richard, and sorry to hear it. I think many of us have been through something similar, and know how you're feeling. The models can wait. Kev Martinnfb, Biggles87 and Shoggz 2 1
Archimedes Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Oh Richard, I absolutely feel for you buddy. They are our best friends their whole lives. From our conversation at Telford I know how much she meant to you. Warmest regards, Paul Biggles87, Shoggz and Martinnfb 2 1
BloorwestSiR Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Sorry about the loss of your dog. They're such a part of one's family. Carl Shoggz, Biggles87 and Martinnfb 2 1
Tolga ULGUR Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'm sorry you lost such a good friend so early, Richard. I know what that feels like. Biggles87, Shoggz and Martinnfb 2 1
Biggles87 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I can only echo the sentiments expressed above. We have had 9 Golden Retrievers ( usually two at any one time ), since we have been married and we have two at the moment. They all take a little bit of you when they go, I know it’s sad at the moment but eventually the happy memories will overcome the sad ones. Thinking of you. John Shoggz and Martinnfb 1 1
MikeMaben Posted February 17 Posted February 17 She'll always be part of your happy memories. Shoggz and Martinnfb 1 1
dennismcc Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Terrible news losing a family pet, but that is the price that you pay for the entertainment, laughs and sheer companionship that they bring. As others have said cherish the memories. Cheers Dennis Shoggz and Martinnfb 1 1
