These ones are great, and I enjoyed doing them. (I am a masochist. ) Yes, they won't be seen once the two halves are buttoned up, but I just enjoy having seen them in place and making everything look realistic.
Shoggz Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 Significant progress tonight. Excuse the hastily snapped photos. I've run out of time so rushing! Tolga ULGUR, MikeC, Biggles87 and 16 others 19
Biggles87 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I continue to be amazed at the amount of cockpit detail provided, I’ve just noticed that they even provide the strip of fairlead where the pipes from the undercarriage controls pass through the IP frame.. I’m very tempted to buy an early version while I’m waiting for the Vb. John Shoggz and Iain 2
Shoggz Posted January 15 Author Posted January 15 Channelled my 'inner-Tolga' this evening and made some decent progress. First job was to finish one of the only areas in this model that I'm not 100% keen on - the representation of the .303 brownings. Not really sure what Kotare were trying to achieve with the way they have done them... little fiddly stubs that you have to seat inside the wing.. Anyway, once that was achieved, it was smooth progress to end up... As with all three Kotare Spits I've built, the wing to fuselage join was a dream. I followed the instructions and attached the fillets to the wings and then slid the fusealge in. There was a satisfying 'click' and there you have it! denders, Pete Roberts, Iain and 11 others 14
monthebiff Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Lovely job a d excellent progress Richard and I completely agree with you regarding the way Kotare have dealt with the .303's as for me it's a very poor and badly thought out area of the model which was unnecessary! Regards. Andy Shoggz 1
Uncarina Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Excellent progress Richard, and I appreciate you showing the way with this build. Cheers, Tom Shoggz 1
Dpgsbody55 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Nice work so far. This is a really good kit to build. Except for those silly guns... Cheers, Michael Shoggz 1

I have just ordered the ‘ Brian Lane ´ version, which I intend to build straight from the box and avoid any ‘ improvement/correction ‘ delays, which is what usually lead to my interminably long builds. Here’s hoping. John Edited January 16 by Biggles87 Shoggz and dennismcc 2
MikeMaben Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Looking good so far Rich. Yeah thanks for showing us uninitiated what it looks like going together. Shoggz 1
dennismcc Posted January 16 Posted January 16 That cockpit looks really good, and the guns are silly. Cheers Dennis Shoggz 1
