Hi Guys,

I am finally starting Victoria Cross Recipient Robert Hampton Gray's F4U-1D Corsair as a restored aircraft when it was owned by Vintage Wings of Canada. This aircraft eventually crashed and was sold to an American buyer (I don't know who) that intends to restore it again but probably not in FAA markings.

Here's some photos of my initial work on the cockpit. I decided to sue the Red Fox printed cockpit set. Minimal scratching building with some plastic rod and lead wire on the bulkhead.  For the interior green I used AK Real Colors Interior green and tried the Ak Interior Green Marker for the first time. I liked the marker as its great for touch ups.

Very interested to follow along with this one.  My father-in-law is friends with the now retired owner and he was able to score a tour of Vintage Wings for my wife and myself while we were in Ottawa.  I was able to see the Corsair at Vintage wings while it was still in Gatineau and put it on my to-do list.

Great work so far. - Jeff

A Corsair in Gray's markings had been on my build list for a while now. I'll be happy to follow along.

Here's the one pic I managed to grab of Vintage Wing's Corsair when I was there.

Nice.  I hope to do it justice.

Starting on the HGW Cockpit harness next. Thought I didn't have these in my inventory but when I was looking for a sprue in the box I found it. That's good news.
