Phil Smith Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Nice work there! I assume this kit is about the best there is for a 1/32 P-47 (I admit to being a bit lazy asking this)? I'm keen to add it to my stash... Furie 1
Furie Posted December 10, 2024 Author Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) Thank you Mike, Philippe, Paul, John, Ernest, Matt, Gazzas, Fabrice and Phil for your messages and encouragement. -Yes, my French is very good even though I married an Alsatian woman who I can't understand when she shouts in Alsatian... -Yes, the information you can get on LSP is unbelievable, because there's always someone here who's a specialist in something, so you always get a relevant answer to your questions. -Yes, retirement is a wonderful thing, especially for a passion as all-consuming as models! Well, since I've got to give you some news about me my P-47, here's what I've done on the cockpit with the help of Eduard! *Of course, it's only WIP, and I still have a lot of work to do on this cockpit, and don't yell at me because of the cockpit's light color, because in reality it's shadier!* Edited December 10, 2024 by Furie geedubelyer, monthebiff, Tnarg and 12 others 15
alain11 Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) Hi Denis , sorry.... I wouldn't want to mess up your thread , but are you sure about the interior green ? well , I may be wrong , but I think , ( I always thought ) that the P 47 D ,(at least the razorback version ) cockpit color was bronze green , Alain the debate is open Edited December 10, 2024 by alain11 dennismcc, morane and Furie 3
AngryJazz_Models Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Excellent build! Cockpit looks great. I really like the P-47 😊 Furie 1
Furie Posted December 11, 2024 Author Posted December 11, 2024 (edited) Hello Alain, as I wrote above, the photos I posted do not reflect the reality of my P-47. They're much too bright, because to show you as much detail as possible I had to use 3 LED lights that “burn” the colors. To make my "bronze green", I didn't use MRP paint, which is fake because it's too bluish. I made my own mix with 2 parts MRP 131 Interior green + 1 part MRP 61 RLM 71 (this is the sample marked “3/1” at top right): Here's a photo of the back plate behind the pilot's seat, which is more faithful to my P-47. My “bronze green” is deliberately lightened to respect the scale effect and avoid a totally unrealistic “black hole”. I hope I've reassured you (a little) Alain! Phil88 Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Hi Denis, it’s great work. It's still weird but I understand your English really well. Okay, enough of the jokes, a quick comment, are you sure of the color of your interior? I read all your text. If you're looking for me Denis, I'm on the other side of the world. alain11 and Furie 2
Greif8 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Superb work on the photo-etch and cockpit overall Denis! Ernest Furie 1
Furie Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Thank you Alain, Andy, Philippe and Ernest for your messages. I've been working a lot on my P-47, lots of parts to build, lots of painting here and there, but the model is progressing slowly but surely: wire that I've twisted, lead soldering wire, fitting Eduard's parts, mobile light made from guitar string, scratch-built turnbuckle and cable guide, and lots of other things not visible here. The IP was enhanced by adding tiny drops of UV resin to simulate the glass of flight instruments. FW190A-5, LSP_Kevin, Biggles87 and 7 others 10
Phil88 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Now we can see his work on this P47. It's a great job my friend. Furie 1
